Tucked away across the expressway from downtown Dallas is the Dallas Heritage Village in Old City Park. On site are a number of restored, fully decorated Victorian era homes as well as a church, one room school house, and several building that make up a turn of the century downtown. Be sure to visit the saloon where the bartender will serve up root beer and peanuts. Two Saturdays/month there are gunfights in the street of the old downtown and an old time music jam. Great opportunity to see life at turn of the century and before.
