White Rock Lake is 11 miles around. We like to go out there on the weekend and walk parts of the trail. We walk about 45 minutes and pick a different place to start every time. Very pleasant walk. Less crowded than the Katy Trail. You will see lots of turtles. It is a nice break from the city. Beautiful houses.
We went for a walk around this lake. Saw a ton of turtles on logs, variety of ducks and some birds. We also noticed two snakes swimming in the lake and some flowers among the grass. Very enjoyable walk. Lots of joggers, bike riders and walkers. Plenty of room for all of us to enjoy the lake and nature along the way.
Beautiful walking trails, a very large park area, boating and close to our great Dallas Arboretum. Good restaurants in the area and close to downtown.
We stopped in Dallas for a couple nights to explore a few things. We decided somewhat on a whim to stop by White Rock Lake and we are glad that we did. It was a nice break from the busy city. We didn't spend much time here, but it was a nice breath of fresh air and a moment to be next to the water. Some beautiful houses near this lake as well. Quite the hidden gem, and easy to miss if you didn't know it was there.
White rock has become my favorite park here in Dallas. Very scenic and quiet. It's absolutely beautiful in fall. Majority of the 9 mile trail is concrete . I mostly took 2-3 mile walks. I really wish there were real restrooms and not just port-o-potties though.
It is a great place to go to chill and admire the nature! Close to downtown, White Rock Lake is the place to relax and watch birds, or run, or kayaking. My favorite saturday afternoon spot!
