In years past this lake was great to walk around. It's gotten a little too sketchy to walk around if there are not a lot of people around. The lake is still wonderful for cook outs, just be watchful of your surroundings
I go to White Rock, which is very close to the Dallas Arboretum, to kayak and get a sense of peace in the middle of a busy city.
This is by go to place every weekend. Its 9.3 miles to run around it and there are water fountains every two miles or so.
I love checking out parks and I decided to check out White Rock. Its a pretty big park and lots of people come to it. There people doing water activities as well as walking and biking. I think its a pretty place to spend your weekends. I just wish that the walking trail would connect through the whole park. Overall its a nice park.
We spent many a summer at White Rock Lake Park for picnics, Frisbee, walking and more. A friend from upstate commented that White Rock Lake Park was our (Dallas') Central Park. And I more than agree. We love and are proud of our White Rock Lake!
Love the lake, been kayaking here several times and it is awesome. Feels like you are not in the city anymore... I just bought a Kayak of my own and White Rock lake is first on my list of places to get out on the water. Great walking, and nature watching.
