“Something to see but very uninspiring”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

The JFK memorial was such a surprise at how bland and uninspiring it was. For a country that is depicted to the rest of the world as being so patriotic, it was hard to believe that this was a memorial for undoubtedly it's most publicised and famous president (to the rest of the world anyway). A couple of upright concrete slabs surrounding a square piece of granite on the ground.

No doubt it is worth a visit, but gee, such a disappointment too.

And yes, this is not in Dealey Plaza, but a couple of blocks away.

“Not as big as one would think”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

Having one of the worst histories in Dallas you would think that the area was larger than life, but it is a half block where it all happened. With the book depository anchoring one corner and lined with the grassy knoll. The museum is interesting and the area is full of tourist. Its a good area to just wander around, people watch and tour the museums in the area. His actual memorial is a block east on Main st.

“Not great”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

I found the memorial very dull and uninspiring which is in direct contradiction to the man it memorializes. Really close to the Book depository so at least you dont spend alot of time trying to get here

“Back in Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

Enjoyed this visit back in time with my kids who had only heard about this from history class in school. It puts the event in a whole new perspective to see it first hand. The grassy Knoll is preserved and the Texas Book Depository is also on the site. All is available for viewing for no cost. There are other options if you want to spend more time and money to get more details of the famous day in history. We took the trolley and felt it was money well spent.

“Sad and wonderful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

We visited here some time ago on a very hot Dallas afternoon. It has been wonderfully done and a fine memorial to the late president in the place he met his death. We would say well worth a visit.
