Owner description: The adventure at The Dallas World Aquarium begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of-the-rock and many species of toucans, can be seen. Lounging around are Two-toed and Three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, Giant river otters, Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the many conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life, including Japanese crabs, jellyfish, Leafy, Weedy and Ribbon seadragons. Black-footed and Blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit. Sharks, rays and sawfish are only a few of the fish living in the Mundo Maya cenote. Safe from Neotropical eagles, are euphonias, tanagers and hummingbirds. Reptiles and amphibians, both of significance to the Maya culture, can be seen throughout the exhibit.

“So Much to See and So Easy to Get to”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

We live north of Dallas, and decided to make a day out of taking the DART train to the Dallas World Aquarium. Everything about our trip was great,. My kids, 3 and 7 years old, and I took the Green Line to the West End Station and walked to the aquarium, which is only about 3 blocks away. We always enjoy the Dallas World Aqaurium because it has so much more than any other aquarium around here--it is an indoor rainforest habitat with all the attractions of a regular aquarium. Both of my kids love trying to find birds and monkeys hiding in the trees, the otters, the bats, the huge shark tank, the penguins and all the smaller individual aquariums. After your visit you can walk about 2 blocks west and find all kinds of places to eat and then take the train home. My 3 year old fell asleep on the train about halfway home.

“Excellent Exhibits!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

While attending the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America last weekend I was able to take a tour of the DWA. We were there for an evening reception so some of the rainforest exhibits were a bit dark but they are made to be viewed with natural light. The aquariums were all in nice shape and did a good job of representing the world's oceans.

If you go to Dallas and and have only one day, I recommend the D.allas W.orld A.quarium! The staff was very friendly, all most all of the expiates are viewable from different points of view. Every thing was very clean. I have been to several other aquariums from Texas to California and this is one of the best if not the best one i have been lucky enough to visit.

“Fun, Informative and just plain WOW”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

This was our second trip and we took several friends with us. They intended to spend an hour and then head out. My wife and I knew better. We spent a good 2+ hours there with lots and lots of pictures. This is an absolute don't miss in my opinion.

“Fun place for both grown ups and kids!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

Went here with a couple of friends on a Sunday. This place was awesome. Really liked how the place was designed like a trail and you got close contact to almost all the animals in here. Some animals was flying, jumping free around you - FUN!
