I live in Dallas, have visited this museum many times, and really like it. Previously, one had to pay an admission fee to visit the museum, but their policy has changed, and now there is no entry fee, unless one chooses to attend one of the special exhibits.

If you visit the museum, be sure to also visit Klyde Warren park across the street, a lovely new park that has only been open for a short time.

The Dallas museum of Art is a world class museum. You will find art from all periods, and cultures. There are usually special exhibits that are excellent. This museum has some of the best art in the world. Also, it is part of the Dallas Arts District, setting it up as a world class area, from the Meyerson symphony hall, the Wynn opera, the Nasher sculptor garden, and the Crow Asian museum to name a few in this powerful artistic area in Downtown Dallas.

This is a truly positive experience for any art lover. The admission to the museum is free and on Thursday night the exhiits are free, too. The collection is comprehensive and includes something for everyone. The activities for the kids keeps them busy while the oldsters can visit the collection. The snacks are reasonable in price and include a varied, good menu.

My husband recently redesigned the restoration room which features a viewing window. However if your interested in more classical or famous works the Kimball in Fort Worth is definitely for you.because of a recent very large donation there is no entry fee for the next three years as a large benefactor has paid your way in.

The DMA began offering free admission at the start of 2013. Many people who had never visited the museum are not taking advantage of this great resource.

Also, don't miss the Nasher Sculpture Center, across the street. The $10 admission will be well rewarded by the excellent sculpture collection, impressive visiting exhibitions, and the superb building, designed by Renzo Piano.
