“Check out their Late Night event”
Reviewed September 13, 2013

I have been several times, but enjoyed the late night event the best. Its perfect to stop by after a dinner at one of the nearby restaurants (grab parking then cause it fills up fast!) and then head over afterward. They always have lots of different options including live music, interactive murder mysteries, films, and tours. Just make sure you have some comfortable shoes!

“Art is a Beautiful Thing”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Its a wonderful museum. there are several floors with Art Exhibitions from Mexico, Asia, Hotel Texas on JFK, Greek's interpretation of the human body, and outdoors sculptures. Great place to come for peace, reflection, and inspiration. It shares a path with Nasher Sculpture Center and a Water Fountain Park. You can loose yourself here for an hour or the entire day. I want to come back before I leave Dallas.
General admission is at no cost to the public, there is a fee for certain exhibitions and underground parking is $10. I visited on Sunday morning and there is free street parking. There is a cafeteria or bring your brown bad and eat out in the garden and soothing water falls and trees.

“Always Changing”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

They always have a different exhibit setup and it is always nice to get away and see some history form the past. This is a must see.

“Glad I returned...so much has changed!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

I really can't say enough good things about what the Dallas Museum of Art has done over the past nine months. Last time I was here, you paid an entry fee and could combine your ticket with an entrance fee to the Nasher Sculpture Museum. Well, as of January apparently entry into the Dallas Museum of Art is free! Upon entering, there is a bank of iPads on which you can register and this allows the museum to track attendance; they are then eligible for grant money which allows entry to the museum to be free to the public. Evidently, this outreach has enabled the museum to increase attendance by over 20,000 people. Additionally, once you sign up on the iPads you can then use your cell phone to text codes on the wall of each exhibit to the museum, which earn you points toward museum shop discounts, free books, free postcard packs, free parking, etc. This is really an interesting concept that is not being done anywhere else that I know of; couple that with the fact that this is one of the best collections of art in the country and you have the recipe for something special. Kudos to the friendly staff as well. I'll be back, yet again!
