How can you beat free admission to a museum? DMA has a great collection, including the Reeves Collection with a link to Chanel and Winston Churchill - great works by Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Pissarro, and others. We really enjoyed the visit (although you should bring a sweater as it seemed quite chilly inside). The museum is a close walk from the trolley stop, so even if you want to park elsewhere and take a ride ont he trolley to the museum, you have options. This museum is definitely one that I will take advantage of for multiple visits and take my time on individual paintings instead of the usual 'try to see it all in one visit'. Enjoy!

Wanted to spend the day sight seeing while on a trip for work and decided to make the DMOA my first stop and am happy I did. At the time of my visit they had a special exhibit on Mexico which was extreamly interesting in addition to all of the beautiful art that displayed at the museum. The staff was friendly and very knowledgable as well would go again and again

Spent a few Days in Dallas on business and visited this museum twice. Very friendly and welcoming staff and interesting exhibitions, the modern art floor was especially unique in its mixture.

The cafe is also good value and in a nice environment.
Staff helped me navigate around the city.
Thanks.

Some special exhibitions still have admission fees but the 4-floors of galleries are open to all. I was there on Thursday and they had a jazz concert, also free, in the cafe that night. Wonderful exhibits that span 5,000 years all over the globe. Don't miss the oldest textiles in the world, found in ceramic jars in the west coast South American desert. The colors and fabric itself look brand new! Also, if you don't want to drive, there's a DART station (St. Paul Station) 1.5 blocks away on Bryan Street between St. Paul & Harwood streets (the museum is between St. Paul and Harwood). Take the Ross Street entrance (through an enchanting courtyard) and walk away from the Woodall-Rodgers freeway down St. Paul. It's a shaded street and goes past the First Baptist Church which has a water/music/lights display around 7pm.
