“We loved it!”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

When we flew from Seattle to Belize our flight connections weren’t very good and we had a very long layover. We decided to spend the night at the Grand Hyatt in the airport and it was perfect! As it turned out the hotel was only 3 gates away from where our plane came in. Everything was smooth and easy. The room was very nice, attractively decorated, lots of amenities, comfortable, and quiet. We did not take advantage of the breakfast room service but I thought it was quite interesting that if you placed your breakfast order before 2 AM it would be delivered to your room at a specific time the next morning. Quite handy for someone needing to get up and go.

After a good night’s sleep and a nice shower the next morning was a snap. You exit the hotel down an escalator and at the bottom is the entrance to airport security (which never seemed to be very busy). We got through security in a snap, hopped on the Skylink train to our terminal. From the time we left our hotel room until we were at our airplane’s gate (on a different terminal) was about 15 minutes.

On the flight down we ate at the Grand Hyatt lounge and it was okay. The food was more or less what one would expect from an airport cocktail lounge. On the way back we ate in the hotel restaurant and WOW! I was blown away! We both had one of the best steaks EVER!!! Last time I was in the Dallas area we ate at Pappa Bros and this was on the same scale. It was every bit as good … if not better.

We only had breakfast here during a lay over, it was wonderful and the service - staff was great. The lattes and omelets and pancakes were delicious. The lobby was clean and so close to the international terminal, next time we will opt to stay here as so incredibly convenient, in the same terminal as our international flights

We stayed there on our way out and on our return from Cost Rica. Had the same room both times. The Bell Hops are on you like flies on trash. Be prepared. Also, no refridgerator or coffee pot in the rooms (at least in ours). The room does have a stocked mini-fridge but you better check out those prices before you open anything. YIKES! They have a resautart and lounge but bring $$$. There is noplace else to go since you are attached to the terminal so plan ahead or plan to pay! I guess that's the price you pay for the convenience of waking up and you are already at the terminal. That was a plus. The room is somewhat small but the bathroom was spacious and nice. Very nice shower. It also included a tub if you need to soak away a long flight. Don't expect anything free other than a bottle of water upon arrival. It has an indoor pool and spa but we didn't use it nor did we see it.

Room Tip: They do have a view of the runway if you want to pay extra for it.

For an Airport hotel this is one of the best! Spent the night here and you could not hear the planes taking off and landing. Overall hotel was very nice clean and well set up for the traveler tired from flying. We were a large group staying over on our way to Jamaica and the only complaint we had was the restaurant/food was not far above your normal airport food, limited menu and over priced.

Room Tip: Would recomend for a good nights sleep to break up a long travel schedule.

Every single thing about my stay was great, especially getting to my flight on time at 5:40 a.m. Loved my "quiet" room on the 8th floor, really big, beautiful plate glass window, super comfy bed with tons of pillows and extra blanket. Automated room remote control bedside operates lights, temp, shades, and sheers. Watch it though, the polished granite bathroom floor is rather slippery. The bathroom is huge, but the shower so tiny. I'm a small person, so normal sized people would find it really cramped. Lovely, efficient staff. Comfortable meeting rooms. Pricey, but I say, worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room, I did and it really was!

If you need to stay at an airport hotel, the Grand Hyatt DFW is a very good and very convenient one. The rooms are modern and clean. The food is good. The staff is friendly and efficient. It's great to check out after a meeting and then be just five or ten minutes away from your boarding gate. Staff is helpful with boarding passes.

Room Tip: If you have to see planes from your window, might as well have the better view of the runway, not th...
