“Excellent stay!”

The Adolphus is a wonderfully grand stay! It is centrally located in downtown Dallas. The hotel is a historical jewel with great charm and character. The room rate is extraordinarily reasonable given the quality of the hotel. Restaurants and bars are wonderful. Service is excellent.

We stayed here this past weekend to enjoy the downtown area of Dallas. This hotel is clean and comforting. It is also close to a lot of great spots in Dallas. This hotel is 30 minutes away from Cowboy Stadium, Dallas State Fair, and the Zoo!

Room Tip: Twisted Root Burgers is down the street :)

We only stayed one night as we were passing through Dallas, but enjoyed our stay. The hotel is old but well-maintained and nicely appointed. The room (like most rooms in old hotels) was considerably larger than typical rooms nowadays. The bathroom was also spacious with both a tub and separate shower all with updated fixtures. The bed was very comfortable.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. The location was perfect if you need to be downtown, and it was a short cab ride to great restaurants and local neighborhoods. Overnight parking was $28.

Stayed one night on a Thursday. Beautiful hotel and rooms. Kindof difficult to figure out parking if you want to avoid valet. There are two overnight parking garage options within easy walking distance, but it will still cost you $10-12. You can, theoretically, park on the street but you have to move your car before 7 am, so it's not a great option. I stayed in a room on the 13th floor (I think) overlooking that big eyeball art thing. (!) It was kindof loud--music floating up from the restaurant/bar on the street came in to the room fairly loudly until 10pm or so. But overall it was a good stay. BTW, the room, bathroom, and closet were all huge. The closet could have been a mini-second room it was so big. I paid a significantly discounted rate via a priceline bid.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, consider asking to be away from the side where the giant eyeball art thing is...

Stayed here for 1 night in late September, got a great deal through Groupon. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again when visiting Dallas. The beds were comfy; the room was spacey with a large walk in closet to store your suitcases in. The shower had great pressure in the bathroom. Parking is valet, and pricey at $28 a night, but that’s what you pay for staying in downtown Dallas. The adjoining hotel bar [Walt Garrison Rodeo Bar & Grill] was great for a few drinks. The bartenders were nice and friendly, and you can also eat monkey nuts, and toss the shells on the floor!

The hotel is in a great location. It's a short walk from the Sixth Floor Museum, Dealay Plaza, Old Red Museum, Kennedy Memorial, Aquarium, and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Lots of great places to eat and drink near by too.

I guess I was expecting more from this hotel given all of the great reviews. It's fancy but it's old. I guess if you like uneven floors and tiny elevators this place would be quaint.

We were put in a room on the back side of the hotel, I opened the window and was greeted to a lovely view of the hotel which is dark and dirty. I wish I would have known to ask for a nicer view. The website says that all rooms have hair dryers and makeup mirrors but they don't. Had to call housekeeping to get one and they were surprised that it was missing from the room but other people on the same business trip had to ask for one too. No robes in the rooms either. There was some kind of thumping all night and I don't know what it was. I think I like fancy and new better.

The staff was nice. They weren't exceptionally friendly but they were fine.

Really $10 a day for internet access?

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review.

We apologize that the rude guests above you caused such a commotion through the night. Had we known, we would have moved you immediately.

All of our guest rooms have makeup mirrors. We are looking into why your bathroom did not. Also, the hair dryers are located in the closet of each guest room.

We appreciate your giving us a try.

Kind regards,

David

One of my favorite 5 hotels in the world. The old world charm is so breathtaking. Such a wonderful and friendly staff. The French Room is amazing. What a beautiful weekend. Easy to walk to Neiman Marcus and we found many good restaurants and bars close by.

Room Tip: Simply ask for a room with a nice view.
