“Service of a bygone era”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

I stayed at the Adolphus Hotel for a conference after a passage of twenty years. While the hotel was still architecturally beautiful, it had frayed over time. The service was as impeccable as I remembered. From the friendly doorman, who cheerfully gave me advice on the directions to my conference or on the weather,(and bundled me into a complementary car when it was nasty out), to room service, to wait staff, to the lobby bar: EVERYONE was gracious, helpful, happy to assist, and proud of their beautiful property. Their lovely human interaction made up for the lapses in areas such as the lack of writing paper and pens, a robe in the closet, and adequate lighting. The bed was wonderfully appointed, as was the minibar. I understand they will be renovating. Don't forget the small touches. I expect to see them when I return.

This hotel has the best of everything.. From the moment you are seen by the valet at your vehicle and thru the checkout process you are treated like royalty. My room was outstanding in every detail as a penthouse suite should complete with a office space that is separate from the living room so I could conduct business without disturbing my guest. The guest relations manager David Davis is outstanding and was able to handle all my requests with ease.. The French Room is also not to be missed as it was the best meal that one could ask for anywhere.. Please take time to enjoy the wonderful pastries and deserts that the extremely talented Executive Pastry Chef Joe Garza can prepare and he was able to accommodate my special request for a special desert for a very special occasion. This hotel is always mentioned in the top of all hotels worldwide for good reason.. The staff and hotel are the best you can ask for!!! Will be staying with them again very soon..

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind compliments.

As other reviewers have noted, there are many restaurants and entertainment options near The Adolphus. See other reviews that describe fully our central location and what is within walking distance. Our complimentary sedan service also takes guests to shopping, dining, and more within a three-mile radius. One could spend a week or two in Dallas and not see (and taste) it all.

Sincerely,

David

I recently stayed at the Adolphus and was very pleased with every aspect of my stay. The property is well- decorated and very classy. I found the help staff to be extremely friendly and willing to "go the extra mile" to make the stay a satisfying experience. The free WiFi at a hotel of this caliber was a great amenity as well as the car that would drop you off and pick you up within a three mile radius of the hotel. It is also important to me individually to have a decent fitness room available. There were several treadmills and elliptical trainers all by a top manufacturer available. Many hotels only have one or two of each. I highly recommend this property.

We came to Dallas for a family wedding. We arrived very late and was greeted by Danny. He was very friendly and very helpful. Our room was very clean with lots of storage space. Very quiet and comfortable beds. Although we stayed three nights we never had the opportunity to enjoy a meal in one of the beautiful dining rooms. Beto saw us walking around the lobby and educated us on the history of the hotel, people who have stayed there and a couple of fun ghost stories! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Maids always said good morning as we walked down the hall. Seriously still thinking about this place and hope to return again in the near future to experience the amazing dining rooms and the food! Hmmm... anniversary is coming up next month.I am going to start working on my husband now to take me back there for an anniversary get away!

After reading several reviews online about The Adolphus, I was a little concerned about service, cleanliness and ghosts. From the bell hops, to the desk people, to the concierge and house staff, and the sedan drivers, they answered all of my calls, helped me when needed and remained professional and courteous. I did have a few dirty sheets on my bed upon arrival but that situation was remedied. I will stay at The Adolphus again should I travel to Dallas. Best of all, I did not hear or see any ghosts or "bumps in the night."

Dear Guest,

The only ghost at The Adolphus is the spirit of hospitality, which you did see.

Our laundry equipment had a malfunction that caused several sheets to appear dirty (they were clean, just not uniform in color). Unfortunately, we were not able to catch all of them before they were distributed. We are sometimes too efficient for our own good!

Thank you for your kind understanding and your praise. We look forward to your next visit.

Best regards,

David
