“Great server encouraged sharing entree”
Reviewed June 27, 2012

We came here last night because it was near the American Airlines Center and we could leave our car at the valet rather than fighting the crowds at the AA Center. Now that we have eaten here we will definitely be back just because of the great food and service. The outdoor seating looked inviting because it does not directly abut the street and is shaded from the westerly sun by an office building. But last night it was just too hot - will keep it in mind for the spring and fall. Turn on your GPS to find it because it's a tad off the beaten path, but worth the search. One of the things we really liked was that they were actually encouraging sharing plates, so we didn't feel obligated to order more food than we wanted and then have nowhere to keep it while we went to the AA Center. We ordered some small plates and split an entree. The entree was a Morroccan tagine dish, and they even split it into two little tagine plates with the conical covers for serving, without our having to ask. Awesome.

“Service was outstanding”
Reviewed May 23, 2012

When researching fun and healthy choices for our trip to Dallas I found the reviews for the Medina Oven and Bar compelling. My husband found the restaurant easily and because we were eating early on a Friday night we were able to find parking on the street very close to the restaurant. We chose to eat outside in their small outside patio area. Our service was wonderful. We ordered the eggplant appetizer served with warm pita. Then we ordered the Old World pizza. It was fantastic. Since we shared the pizza and it was so good, we ordered another one for us to take with us. Honestly the food was so fresh and perfectly spiced. I loved everything they served us. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the service. Honestly, don't miss this place. It is a real find! The only thing that surprised us was the lack of competition, with other restaurants in the immediate area. There were a lot of empty storefronts.

“Perfect choice for lunch”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

I would eat here weekly if I lived in the area. Found this gem of a restaurant on TA because it looked like a good fit for a Mothers Day lunch. They offer a Sunday brunch for $21/pp. Plenty of food; we left full, but my mouth wanted more. For Sunday brunch menu has four selections of appetizers, four of the entree, a mimosa, and dessert. We each got something different so we could experience all the flavors.

We both loved the first course; 2 beef cigars with a delicious sauce on the side. The filling was savory and the crust was flaky. The other was 2 large perfectly grilled shrimps on a bed of couscous. I really wanted more of both!!!

For the entree we ordered the Chicken Royal and the seafood pastry. Again, both delicious! Pita bread was brought out, as well as pomegranate mimosas. Nice touch.

I have known good cream brulee, and just okay cream brulee. The one they make at Medinas is the best ever!!

The establishment is small, but every staff member went out of their way to make us feel like honored guests.

Take a chance and check out this amazing place!!!!!

“Middle-Eastern Delight”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Was in a hurry to get to a basketball game at nearby arena, so ordered two pizzas. They were among the best in the City. The condensed lemon puree on one and the creamy pesto sauce on the other elevated the other ingredients to a new level. Both were fresh and top quality. Service was prompt and friendly -- chef/owner made a personal visit to our table to discuss our food choices and others he recommended. The small restaurant had a neighborhood vibe, wood fired oven in kitchen visible from the dining room, and Moroccan decor. Menu was reasonably priced. Will definitely return to try other menu choices.
