We've stay at this Sheraton when we visited Dallas before but not since they've renovated/updated their rooms. Our room was delightful - - the a/c worked really well which was important since it was 94 degrees outside and the bed was perfect - comfortable but not bouncy. It's a very large hotel and but well laid out once you figure out the various banks of elevators. Rooms/hallways were well-lit and squeaky clean. The concierge lounge had moved from an upper floor down to the fourth floor and wow, it sure is nice. Food was delicious, lots of snacks and healthy options. The best part of our stay were the people who worked at the concierge lounge. We would stay at the Sheraton again just to hang out with Beverly in the lounge. She was super friendly, super helpful and full of interesting facts about Dallas, places to go and things to do. When Beverly and the other staff member in the lounge, Kimora (Kimona?) found out it was my husband's birthday they really helped to make it special. We always left the lounge feeling like Sheraton really cared about us and our stay. GREAT STAY. A+

Attended a large conference at the hotel and attached conference center. Hotel was OK, the staff friendly, but even the conference rate was high for what was being offered. The building itself is huge and complex to navigate when trying to get from one meeting room to another. Not sure I would stay here without a conference.

Dear Peter,

Thank you for being our guest while visiting for a conference. We host many conference attendees, and we are glad you had a good stay overall. However, we are sorry you had trouble navigating the hotel and that you were not completely happy with our rate. Our front desk team is always available to help you in any way. My stay at the hotel has been very hospitable, from housekeeping to the front desk, all of my needs have been met with friendliness and courtesy. Mary Ann, at the front desk truly made my night. She just took that extra step to check on something for me very late in the evening. Often customer service representatives will advise a guest that something is not usually done in a certain way and leave it at that. Leaving the guest to prompt them to make a check or sending the guest away without resolution. I was looking for a package well after the business center hours, Mary Ann was not aware of a package being left for me but instead of sending me away to check back in the morning she found the packages and made certain that I received them! She is an asset at your front desk and a great example hospitality in this industry!

Check-in: No dedicated check-in line for Elite members. The young lady who checked us in lacked personality and lacked basic knowledge of rooms. She didn't know what a suite was.

Lounge: Very nice, large, modern lounge.

Room: 2367 “executive suite”- spacious and comfortable suite. Living room included good conference/dinner table for working meetings with four chair, large couch, TV, mini-refrigerator…. Bedroom included a huge, comfortable couch that someone could sleep on, Large desk, TV, etc. Nice mini-coffee maker with Starbucks coffee. Staff left a nice note with a goodie bag for us.

Bathroom: ample counter space, good towels, normal toiletries, good hair dryer. One big gripe about the bathroom- Lighting. Not enough light.

Bed: Nice king bed, decent linens, but we didn’t like the comforter. It didn’t breath like a down comforter.

Pool/gym: huge modern gym. Very small rooftop pool.

Noise/sleep quality: Hardly any noise yielding good sleep. Overall, nice and quiet.

Housekeeping: Room was clean and well stocked upon arrival. Housekeeping did a great job. We left a $3 tip, and the housekeeper went above and beyond.

Restaurants/bars: Two on site restaurants including a sports bar called “Draft” and “Open Palette.” We had breakfast at Open Palette. The omelet bar at Open Palette was great! Kudos to Marcus!

Lounge: The Lounge at this Sheraton was much better and larger than average. At all hours the Lounge provided snacks like granola bars, cookies, and fruit along with free soft drinks and water. Breakfast was decent but ends promptly at 9:00 during the week, even on holidays. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, etc. Evening appetizers were decent. During our stay, free wine and beer was offered, including a charming amber ale called “Fire Ant Funeral.”

Parking: valet parking or self-parking. I used the valet, and the service was prompt.

Grounds: This is a city hotel without any grounds.

Overall staff attitude: Overall, staff was decent but not as good as my last visit. Our check-in clerk on this trip had the personality of a wet noodle. And we had an issue with the A/C in our suite. One of the technicians was a rather dense kid. The A/C was set on 65, the room temp was 70, and the air temp coming out of the vent was 72. The kid said the unit was working properly. I walked him through the lack of logic behind his statement and told him it’s ok to say you don’t know why there’s a problem. He stood in our room staring at me. I asked him to leave. About 20 minutes later, an engineering manager came by and said he figured out the problem. This is a good hotel that needs just a little more staff training.
Tips: It’s an easy 1 mile walk to the Deep Ellum district.

About our review: We’re loyal Marriott Lifetime Titanium status travelers. We’ve been all over the planet, which gives us perspective. And we compose our reviews based on our experiences, not others’ reviews. We were vacillating between "very good" and "excellent" as our overall rating. The housekeeping and sleep quality prompted us to round up.
