We ate dinner at Guenther's and ordered the catfish, all you can eat. The plate of catfish was huge and it was good. We would have ordered steaks but they were very pricey. A kind of sad salad came with the meal and 2 sides. The best part of the meal was the catfish and a fresh peach cobbler for dessert.

Best I have ever had. BYOB, or buy some wine from the liquor store next-door. Expect to be serenaded by local talent on the weekends.

Hit the $6.50 lunch buffet on Tuesday with great ribs and chicken. Packed with locals - ranchers and farmers catching a bite and keeping up with the local word.

Great food. loved the potato salad.

With three families totalling eleven people, we had no problem getting a table and service at Guenther's for a nice Thanksgivingeve meal. Guenther's had a bier garten and a wonderful rustic interior decor, with old wood floors just perfect for two-steppin, and lots of local flare. Kids are always welcome, and in fact, the children's chicken strips are awesome. What the kids did not eat, the adults finished off!

The menu consists of German and cajun food with appetizers like peel your own shrip and Kartoffelpuffer and creole quesadillas. Each has a unique flavor that you will not find in a chain restaurant.

The main dishes consists different catfish dishes, mostly creole, and German dishes like weinerschnitzel, jaegerschnitzel and a German style pork loin that is awesome. Some of Guenther's favorites include Voodoo shrimp, catfish ponchatrain, and lots of blackened fish and shrimp.

This fine evening, I had the the chicken ponchatrain over creole rice with grilled veggies. The ponchatrain sauce is exceptional and the rice and veggies were delicious.

You have to remember that Guenther's is BYOB and there is a liquor store next door, so stop by there first for your beer, wine and spirits.

If you like "comfort" food, then this is the place for you in Comfort, TX. I give it five stars.
