Days Inn College Station University Drive
Ranked #30 of 38 Hotels in College Station

We took two rooms at this hotel for a weekend to attend a football game. Naturally, the prices were jacked up to ridiculous levels for the football game, but compared to other hotels in town, it was on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Both rooms were okay. The beds were clean and the linens were fresh. There was a long black hair on the bathroom floor of one of the rooms when we checked in, and it was there again the following day; obviously, the housekeeping did not clean the floor in the bathroom during our stay. One room smelled clean, but the other one had a decidedly unclean odor to it; perhaps the carpet needed to be shampooed.

The hotel offers a hot breakfast to guests, and it was tasty. The eggs were just right: neither too dry nor too runny, with sausages, waffles, cereals, and juices. We enjoyed breakfast a lot. One of the rooms was quite near University Street, so there was considerable traffic noise. Guests in the downstairs rooms can hear the guests in the rooms above them as they walk around. If possible, ask for an upstairs room in the back for maximum peace and quiet.

Each room offered a microwave oven, a mini-fridge, an iron and ironing board, and a coffee maker, so you have just about everything you need to feel at home. The hotel also provided each guest with individual bottles of water in the rooms, a nice touch after a long drive.

This motel has a swimming pool outside, but it was covered for the winter season.

The motel is located along a street with many chain restaurants and other hotels. Finding a restaurant nearby will not be a problem here. In fact, some are so close you can walk. The motel is also fairly close to shopping and Texas A&M University is just a bit further up University.

We could have stayed at a more deluxe motel and spent more money, but when we checked out we agreed that (for the money) this place was fine for what we needed: a clean, decent place to sleep.

Room Tip: Be aware that if you stay in rooms facing University, you may hear a considerable amount of traffic...

This is a very pleasant hotel close to A & M University.
It is showing its age a little but everything was acceptable. The linens were fresh and pretty. The rooms are pleasant, very clean, and very quiet.
There are lots of lights and lamps. However, this is not a very good business traveler hotel because the room desk is small and there was only one usable outlet. However, the front desk will print documents for you if you email them to the hotel email address, which is super nice!
The front desk people especially Anita were pleasant and helpful.
The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Other chains offer a much better assortment for their free breakfast. This was carbohydrate to the max -- rolls and waffles and sugar-laden cheap cereals and doughnuts. Not even a hard boiled egg.
The iron in the room had so much crud on the bottom that it was almost unusable but it's nice to have an ironing board, microwave, etc.

Room Tip: Ask for one toward the back of the property for maximum quiet.

Make no mistake...hotels are ridiculously expensive in College Station. That being said, this is one of the lower priced. The front desk could be a bit friendlier and better staffed on a Friday. We stayed in room 135, non-smoking. Maintenance needs to be done: peeling paint, cracks in wall, bathroom door frame separated from door (but door did close), cracked/peeling tub. The smell in the room was fine. Seemed clean except for cobwebs on the fire sprinkler. Long queen beds are firm and comfortable. There was hot water with good water pressure. Nice flat screen tv, but I had trouble getting the volume loud enough to hear. A/C worked well. There were cable workers staying there that sat up late between our room and the parking lot, played their radio and talked. The room was quiet enough that it did not bother us. The pool was clean. The laundry room was handy but four out of eight appliances were out of order. Breakfast was the typical make your own waffles, apples, croissants, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee type of meal. Would stay there again just to get the lower price, queen beds and hot water.

Good location, but that was all this time. Stayed a couple of other times and okay. This time, horrible - sour smell in room and especially sheets, didn't change sheets in the three days there. Unfriendly staff, breakfast very limited and below normal. Higher price than ever before.

Antiquated, fruit fly infested room, don't walk across the carpet in white socks (they'll turn nasty black), rude, unaccommodating front desk, clerk (Gloria), breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Hand towels at the pool, not full size towels (and ever so lovely labeled "pool" in black permanent marker)..Mattresses are old and sagging. Spend a couple bucks more and stay at the Comfort Suites next door. You'll be glad you did.

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you value down time.

Bathroom very small, bathtub had paint peeling, toilet would rock back and fourth, carpets were dirty, walls were spot painted with different color paint, hot tub did not work, most of the washers and dryers were out of order, most of the staff don't speek English, pool was nice, was close to a lot of restaurants and stores. If you are hard up for a room this will work but try to find something else. I will not come back to many places to stay in the same area. Breakfast was terrible no fruit no warm foods.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Have stayed here on 2 different occasions with the last one in March 2013. Overall it is a good room for the price. It was quiet and comfortable. Just needed a place to rest and shower while visiting some family.
