Had a great time visiting this musuem.
Actually we went noon time and it was really hot outside so going inside was so refreshing and cool. Someone met at the entrance and explained there will be a movie about the presidents life and will take 30-45 mins and then after that we will be free to go to the musuem. For a fee of $9.00 per head.
We took the movie documentary (free) and it was nice.
It told a lot about presidents bush life and how he started out, his family and an insight to all his achievements
Yes! And right after that we went inside the musuem.. It started out with the old vintage cars and then the gallery of both president and mrs bush achievements, trials accomplishments...there were a lot of pictures and the White House was also set up giving an insight to the first family's activities. Overall it was a good tour for the day. At the end there was a computer where you can write down to either president bush or mrs Barbara Bush and you are given choices on the questions you can ask..
Overall it's a very good afternoon tour for the day.. Had a great time

I spent the morning viewing the life and legacy of Pres. GHW Bush. Well worth the time. Docents are very welcoming and informative. When I had a question the took me to the place find the answer. I had my photo made in the Oval Office.

Very interesting and well put together exhibits. Lots of history from Berlin Wall to Desert Storm. Well worth the visit no matter your political affiliation.

I feel bad giving the Bush Presidential Library a disappointing review. I think the entire complex should be re-done. There aren't enough historical artifacts. Presidents get gifts from tons of world leaders and you see very little of that on display (and most of these gifts just sit in boxes in storage somewhere which is a shame). Bush was only president for four years but during that time he oversaw great changes. First Gulf War, Invasion of Panama, the collapse of Soviet Union, Eastern bloc nations transforming their governments, the road to Germany's re-unification, and so on. Yet its a rather boring museum. Laid out in a terrible way. No charm. A big miss. Very disappointed. Been to FDR, Truman, Johnson, Reagan, & Clinton libraries and all are so much better. Also I think the college campus almost feels ashamed at having the library. Signage is TERRIBLE. They should be advertising it on all their roadway signage ... instead of in most signs completing omitting any reference to Bush Library. I found it by accident. That's really bad.

Mike,
We are sorry that you did not have a better experience. We do have an entire section called "Gifts of State", not sure if you had the opportunity to view that portion of the museum. Since the museum is very biographical and starts with President Bush's childhood we and we are limited in space due to National Archives requirements we are not able to focus on all the changes extensively, but we do our best to touch on them. Concerning signage, there are various limitations we have around the community, but we are working on improving this issue. We have made some changes to the museum and you can take the virtual tour by visiting www.bush41.org.
Mr. George Herbert Walker Bush may well have been the President who had the deepest resume before taking office. He was a business man, a congressman, an envoy to China, US Ambassador to the United Nations and a Vice-President of the USA. Compare that to any other President - especially of the last few years or even the last century. And all of this is portrayed in this exhaustive library/museum.
All of the information is thoughtfully presented. And the staff of the facility is happy, friendly and gracious. And that is how I think of President and Mrs. Bush.
We have visited several of the Presidential Libraries; JFK, LBJ, WJC, GWB to name a few. We think that this library is the most interesting and most informative about the entire life of the subject.

It was a great time seeing the exhibits and being part of the Fourth of July Flag raising by the Lone Star Commandery # 114
