We live in troubling times: uncertainty, divisive political leaders and the threat of terrorism every day. The reason to go to the George Bush Library in Dallas is to regain a sense of security in the principles that founded our nation. To learn about a leader committed to protecting American values. The center is austere yet elegant, formal and friendly. There's not a lot of fluff here..pure history and the record of events that shook our nation to it's knees. Yet, we came away feeling strong, proud and eager to carry on the message that the United States should make no apologies. We stand on principles and we give our resources to all the needy in the world. And we survived a terrible attack on our nation. We had a leader that believed in the people, who loved the United States. Take your family...be proud.

Our family (husband, wife, adult daughter) found the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station to be absolutely inspiring. What life well lived and filled with integrity! We learned of his family, his heroic and honorable service in WWII, his career in the oil industry, his time as a congressman, ambassador, party leader, vice president, president, post-presidency...and so much more.

The museum is beautifully organized, information is wonderfully presented, displays are so relevant, and special exhibits really interesting.

The docents at the museum were helpful, knowledgeable, and professional in every way--really terrific volunteers who obviously respected and admired President Bush and his legacy.

We spent nearly an entire day at the museum, could have stayed longer.

My thanks to the president, his family, those who served him well, and the great staff and volunteers at the museum. We had a wonderful visit and recommend this museum without reservation!

We have been to many presidential libraries, this is one of the best--perhaps the very best!

Be sure to allow plenty of time to browse and learn about the life and service of an incredible man who has served our country well. Wonderful pictures of his family and pets are on display. Not being history buffs we learned so much about the soldier, husband, father, congressman, ambassador and President George H. Bush. They allow pictures to be taken in the Oval office replica with visitors sitting behind his desk. This is a place you can visit many times and learn something new each visit. They always have traveling exhibits which are very interesting also. George and Barbara Bush lost their 3 year old daughter, Robin, to leukemia in the 1950's. There is a gravesite that is accessible to the public. Our entire visit was heartwarming, inspirational and very touching.

Excellent displays of the life and work of President George H.W. Bush(41). Some of the early family items are touching. They also let you take a photo in a replica oval office. Traveling exhibits stay for a good amount of time and you don't feel like you need to hurry to get there but they are interesting enough so that you want to go back to see what is new. For longer stays check out the calendar for the chamber music concerts usually free at the adjoining Annenberg center. July 4th, regular entrance fee is waived all day. Independence Day is is celebrated with fireworks or laser show with symphony accompaniment at dusk.
