This is absolutely the weakest of the presidential libraries we have visited. While the building and setting are impressive, I came away with the feeling that I was viewing a man with little depth and no capacity for self-reflection or self-criticism. Nothing in the varied but disconnected collection of memorabilia gave any indication of a man who was in touch with or concerned about either the country or people under his "leadership." I voted for this man—too late to do anything about that now.

The architecture, grounds, museum docents, and exhibits are all first-rate and first-class, just as was the man himself while he was President. Exhibits highlight stages in the President's life, from childhood and school, to combat aviator, to oil industrialist, to extensive government service. They reveal myriad facets of his private life as a husband, father, businessman, and patriot. Every exhibit is well-designed and instructive. Be sure to bring the entire family and bring a camera. There's much to see and do here, much to learn, and much to reflect upon afterwards. Being native Mainers, our only complaint is that this Presidential Museum didn't end up in Maine.

My husband and I visited this month as part of a two month tour of Texas. This is far superior to LBJ libray and ranch. I especially liked the early years depicting Bush's childhood and marriage to Barbara. Including the Pierce family was lovely.

The timeline display of the Bush career was well done with interesting artifacts, and balanced. The science exhibit was very detailed. You could spend a lot of time here.
