We went for Easter weekend - and we could not fit in all of the Easter Activities that the hotel put on! It was such a wonderful place for families, with the smores, outdoor movies at night with popcorn and of course the Easter Long-Horns! What a great way to spend time with family and friends!

Room Tip: The rooms on the pool side are very convenient!

Hyatt Lost Pines holds a special place in my heart. I grew up in East Texas but now live in Alaska so when we get the chance to visit the Austin area we always opt to stay here. The resort is very nice, although I personally do not think the rooms live up to what they charge per night ($250-$300 range and up). We wait until we can find a really good federal employee rate of $106/per night and then book our reservations. The grounds are very nice and evoke this very relaxed feeling. The pools are great for kids and adults alike. They have lots of activities for the little ones too. We always enjoy sitting around the big fire pit at night. One downside to staying in a remote resort like Lost Pines is that you really are stuck eating at their overpriced restaurants (and what hotel restaurants aren't overpriced?) I would definitely recommend Lost Pines, but just shop around for a good rate as it can be pricey.

From the moment I pulled up, I knew I was in heaven! I had never been to Lost Pines, but had been to the one in San Antonio... In my opinion, this one blows the SA one AWAY!!! Sean and his assistant Laura, (restaurant management team) were lovely, and did wonderful special things to make the weekend perfect!! My massage at the spa was fantastic!!! The restaurant team at the fine dining restaurant upstairs was incredible!! The evening fire pits were so enjoyable to sit around! The pool at the spa was lovely to stretch and relax in! The grounds were gorgeous!! Waking up in the early morning, overlooking the Colorado river with coffee and a Sunday paper was heaven!! Was fantastic, across the board!! One note, in regard to spa services, book ahead of time... I had hoped to add on services, but they were booked up and it was not an option... So, I just relaxed after my massage and enjoyed the spa for the day, thereafter!!!

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room (as I was there for a kid free weekend and some down time), request a room...

From the moment we pulled up and we're warmly welcomed by Steve to the moment we left our entire weekend was great here. We stayed in a patio room on the first floor which I highly recommend for anyone sharing a room with their kids. Our son was able to burn more energy while we relaxed and watched TV after swimming. Our 2 night stay was long enough for us to hike some trails, swim, and catch a street fair in downtown Austin. Every single person we walked past smiled and greeted us warmly - excellent atmosphere.
The layout of the room was also very good so that even with the door open there isn't a direct line of sight into the bathroom. The bathroom had a shower and tub, though the tub had no shower curtain (for baths only). They had no cots available for kids but put together a comfortable pallet for him to sleep on the floor which he thoroughly enjoyed. Adequate soundproofing so we couldn't hear any of the live music going on outside or the comings and goings of our neighbors.
The pool was well laid out with several areas and a lazy river going through it all. Plenty of towels poolside and quick service at the bars. They had plenty of drinks to choose from, including the cute nonalcoholic 'Cookie Monster'. There is also an adults only pool and pool area so you can have some quiet r&r.
I went to the Spa for a message and Christine was amazing. Friendly and pleasant, she adjusted her massage intensity when I asked her to with no problem. The spa lounge area would have been more fun with a group of girlfriends but I still had a nice time reading a magazine before getting called back.
Overall we had a great weekend getaway for about $1000 and that's not bad at all. We definitely plan to go back in the future.

This is my third time here and it has been wonderful. The staff is always smiling and so accommodating. No matter if you are walking by the Colorado River or calling to ask for an extra tooth brush, you can always expect a smile and "hello, how are you". Additionally the property is a great place for children with little gardens and lots and lots of fun activities: Hey rides , horse back ridding, the little "petting zoo" in the back with alpacas, horses, longhorns and a miniature donkey. A true sanctuary right before Austin. Only 28 min. from Houston with Southwest and a couple hours with the car makes Lost Pines a quick getaway weekend adventure. Additionaly they are very serious about security if your key card doesn't work and you don't have an I.D. with you ( because you left it in the room) , they will escort you to your room and ask you to show them your I.D. Definitely a plus on security! Good Job Lost Pines!

The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines proved they can please both small and large groups. I just finished with a conference attended by 400. They have large conference space and large outdoor venues to please anyone. The LBJ Pavilion provides a great outdoor experience for a meal with a great location for a band. Great food, great customer service, great value. We will come back!

Room Tip: Many activities for children. Excellent family hotel. Excellent air conditioning.
