I was surprised The Texas Music Hall of Fame was as good as it was. I've been to the hall of fame in Nashville which is great but I didn't think this one would be as good as it was. It's on a much smaller scale because of course it's Texas artist not the whole country. I enjoyed every minute of it and would recommend anyone that enjoys Country Music to not drive past this one.

Was pleasantly surprised by this museum. Is VERY well done and very informative. Loved playing the free juke box while we browsed. A MUST see for anyone into country music

Very clean and well displayed biographies and objects from the lives of many entertainers that we grew up with. A plus is that cameras are allowed and I took over 30 pictures while there. They are open from 10-4 and if you want to take a lunch break, you can leave and return to finish your tour without paying another admission, just let the attendant know your intentions. You'll also find a replica of a soda bar with comfortable seating and an old Worlitzer jukebox loaded with records you can choose and play free of charge.

On our amazing trip through Southern Texas and Louisiana this was an unexpected stop-off. Lovely ladies at reception, informal guided tour, excellent exhibits, detailed information, a working jukebox and a special treat - bumping into a former classmate of Roy Orbison.

When you live in the DFW Metroplex and ride a motorcycle you spend all your free time thinking "where do we ride to next?"
Fortunately Carthage is just three back-road hours away! The ride out was pleasant, but the real joy was finding the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
The displays are interesting and fun. I couldn't help singing old country songs that were dredged up from long forgot memories brought back by old album covers or pictures of these old country stars.
The docent at the museum was a super friendly woman who wanted nothing more than to see us smile.
I highly recommend this little slice of Texas history.
