“The best margaritas in Dallas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2012

I've been to Agave Azule about 5 times over the paslt two years. Every time, I am impressed with their margaritas and service. The margaritas are outstanding - good quality tequila and other ingredients, very fresh, and cold! The menu offers a nice selection. I wouldn't order the beef tenderloin again, but definitely would order the traditional Mexican (Tex - Mex) dishes.

“A class above most places!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2011

The food here was awesome. Service very good. A little dark inside, so hard to read the menu but the dim light also makes it a great date spot. Very little not to like here!
Other than service not being excellent and so dark, it would get a 5 rating.

“Too expensive for what it is (and is not)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2011

Came across this place by happenstance. The restaurant is located in the rennovated Old Town section of Carrolton...nice setting. The Tequileria in the name was the draw for us as I thought it might be somewhat like Anejo's in Hurst, TX (highly recommended). Agave Azul might want to rethink their retailing approach to the "Y Tequileria" or drop it from the name. I was expecting something special with a focus on tequila but all they offered with some pretty standard bar offerings at some not so moderate prices. The menu was typcial tex-mex, maybe with a little coastal flair, and the items we had were decent. I will say that our waiter was a top-notch professional, providing service like you would find in a downtown fine-dining establishment. The place was clean but the decor and ambience was forgettable. Anyway, our party of 5 had a cocktail a piece plus dinner, and the bill was $140 before tip. When you're looking at a bill that size for five people in a Mexican restaurant you'd expect something to be outstanding besides service.

“Mexican Marvel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2009

Well, what would a week be like without a margarita from Agave Azul? Their margaritas are consistently full of tartness and "the kick." Their tacos al pastor (pork tacos with mango salsa) are the best I've had. The endless bowls of chips and two types of salsa make it easy to stay and munch, drink, and relax as long as you want. Consider ordering an appetizer instead of a full blown dinner. This saves money and the portions are still good. Quesadillas are always good. The shrimp cocktail is tasty, too. And then on occasion they have tequila-tasting dinners...mmm!

This is a family-owned place. It's not slick, cool, or neat-o. It's real food for hungry people who want to have fun, relax, eat and drink. Know this, and you'll have a great time!

Try a new tequila. Try a margarita of the month. Crunch on chips. Talk with friends - enjoy!
