“Great Family Fun”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Had a great time here this weekend ( 11-1 - 11-3). Park was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of activities for kids, great scenery in the hill country. Many Yogi parks are expensive to begin with and then nickle and dime you for everything, but I think this place was fairly priced and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Restrooms were clean and well taken care of. RV Parking spots were a little to cozy, the RVers next to us fire pit smoke kind of bombarded our rv but all was well. Sites were pretty level, hookups clean and us to use. WiFi was pretty well useless, got a signal but could not load any webpages.

This is one of the few places that my teenage girls do not complain about going to. Getting ready to come back in a couple weeks for our yearly fall trip. Indoor pool is very nice for the off season. The kids love the arcade and do not get bored! We travel in our camper & also bring our lil' dogs! Cable TV at our site is also huge bonus since it's football season.

There were ten of us (5 adults and 5 kids) that stayed in the Bunk House @ ~ $299 a night. It seemed to be a very-very old extremely outdated mobile home that had 3 bedrooms a living room, kitchen, and some type of large room with folding tables and chairs in it. The Bunk House was horrible. Each of the bedrooms had a bunk bed and full-size bed in them. One of bedroom doors was pulled off of its hignhes which I repaired the night we arrived. The kids slept well in the bunk beds; however the full-size beds felt like you were laying on HARD box springs with plastic covers only. I would NEVER stay there again; it was 3 of worst (sleeping) nights of my life. The beds were AWFUL... It was in mid August 2013; the air conditioning worked; however, you could not adjust temperature. Each room had one floor vent that I partially put suit cases over so we would not freeze at night. Luckily we knew we needed to bring blankets and sleeping bags. The 2 bathrooms had a little mold in places but were clean. The Kitchen dishwasher did not work. There were pots, pans, dishes, silverware, coffee maker, toaster, stove, oven, etc. You will everything else including bedding, towels, bath soap, dish-soap and trash bags. The office was closed when we got there a 6pm so be prepared. You are required to clean-up before you leave. One good note; the camp sites for tents and RVs seemed to be nice and there were activities the younger children liked in the park. That being said, I will NEVER-NEVER stay there again. I suggest you look into nearby hotels, which in retrospect would have been cheaper, a lot more relaxing, and comfortable.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the Bunk House.

Thank you for your feedback about Jellystone Park Hill Country. It is always our goal to make this park as pleasant of an experience as we possibly can, and a large part of that goal is the condition of our facilities. We take pride in the aesthetics of this campground and are sorry that we failed to meet your expectations in that regard. Since we are a Campground, we do ask that you bring your own linens and towels, however, we do offer them at a nominal one time rental fee or they can be purchased from the Ranger Station. As you mentioned, the Bunk House does include pots, pans, flatware and glasses serving 14, as well as a toaster, microwave, coffee pot, cable TV, and WiFi as added comforts. In addition, we offer all kinds of activities for our guests. Most of them are included in the rate of the reservation. We have 2 outdoor pools and a Splash Pad, 1 indoor pool and spa, a Jumping Pillow, Volleyball, Basketball, Horseshoes, Disc Golf, and a Shuffle Board Table, as well as Arts & Crafts where there is always a free gift. Again, we appreciate your feedback as it is our best compass for improving every aspect of our park. Your concerns have been noted and we will try to do better in the future.

The staff from management to the camp rangers were all very nice and helpful in helping us enjoiy our stay. We even had one of the rangers over to our camp one night to have dinner with us and sit around the campfire. The facility was clean and had lots of activities to keep our kids busy with having fun. We actually enjoyed it so much we are set to go camping again there the last weekend of Sept again. Looking forward to it!

Room Tip: We stayed in our RV but the sites are all very spacious and shaded.

The kids really enjoyed the activities and meeting at the flagpole to say the pledge of allegiance each morning. The pools were great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem was a family camping who fought loudly and physically pushed each other -- should have been moved to more isolated area or asked to leave.

Room Tip: ask if ac is working well and if cabin has been sprayed for roaches

We are so sorry to hear about your loud neighbors. It is the policy of the park that everyone quiet down at 10 PM. Although, we know some people do not like this policy, we acknowledge we are a family park, geared towards kids. If they do not get their rest at night, they have a difficult time enjoying all the fun things that we have planned for them. We want all of our guests to have a great time, and the last thing we want is for someone to be fighting and disturbing other guests. One of the best ways to help keep any guests from disturbing others after hours is to offer an Emergency Phone Number. We have it posted at prominate places in the campground including the front door of the Ranger Station, and on all of our printed material, as well as on our website. We welcome our guests to call us anytime in case of an emergency or a disturbance. That is our job, to insure your safety, and to see that you have a great experience. Hopefully, the next time you choose us for your vacation destination, you will not experience noisey neighbors but, instead you will meet some new lifetime friends.

We had a great family vacation at jellystone at the beginning of the summer. The kids loved the pools, the crafts, movies, yogi, and especially tubing down the river! The thing I was most disappointed in was the huge jump thing that drew us there to begin with was broken down. The kids really would have liked that. The cottage we stayed at was very old school and the beds were not comfortable, but the kids had a blast and the staff were very very nice. Upon leaving the front desk told me to sweep out my room and handed me a broom? Very odd since I paid over $120.00 per night, you would think that would include housekeeping.

No one was more disappointed than we were that our Jumping Pillow got a hole in it. We tell people not to wear shoes, or any sharp instrument on their body when going into the Jumping Pillow area. It can tear or even pop. Its like a balloon. It is too bad that some do not listen or follow the rules. It was unfortunate it happened. It takes quit a while to replace such a huge pillow. You first have to order it. They are made to order. They do not have them sitting in a wharehouse somewhere. Then you have to dig 4 feet down and 2 feet out, along the sides, in rock, dirt, and sand, in 100 degree heat, I might add. Then you have to untie the ropes that hold it down. Pull it off. Dump the new pillow on the site. These pillows weigh over 600 pounds. You have to spread it out, pull it, stretch it evenly over the site, and lay on your belly to tie it back down to the perimeter boards, in over 100 degree weather. Then you get to hand shovel all the dirt, rock and sand back into the trench, and start the blowers. This proceedure takes a lot of man power, a lot of sweat, and a lot of time and money. So I assure you, it was our disappointment.
We now have a brand new pillow, and it is working great! We are getting shade sails installed around it to protect it from that hot Texas sun. Hopefully, our guests will be mindful before jumping on it. It is a lot of fun, and we are so happy that we have it for our guests enjoyment.
