“A Not To Miss Culinary Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

The fried calamari reminded me of being in Red Square on the island of Sardinia. It was one of the best that I have had in the US. Each entree was flavorful, well-prepared, and generous. We had the Greek gyro, the tilapia piccata, and a special pasta with shrimp, artichokes, etc. Very attentive server. Will definitely return in future.

“Pleasant surprise for the Area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We went to Hill Country Resort on Canyon Lake. The choices appeared to be limited and we were driving around and saw this place that looked busy, we decided to try it. The service was very good and the food excellent. We had the bruschetta, and the lamb kabobs and tenderloin kabobs, and a small Greek salad. The salads were crisp with just the right amount od dressing. The kabobs were cooked to perfection, very tender with excellent seasonings. We had to go back twice more during our stay and tried several different dishes, and all were excellent.

“Best kept secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2013

We have driven by this place several times on our way to visit friends who live in the area. We always say we are going to try it out. Well, this weekend we did and boy were we glad we did! We started with Calamari done to perfection along with an appetizer of Mussels. The mussels were perfect and the sauce accompanying it delightful. I had the Shrimp Alfredo with fettuccine. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The sauce was creamy but not overwhelming like some other restaurants. My husband had the Chicken Marsala. The Marsala sauce was little too sweet, but still enjoyable. My only complaint would be the bread. I like more artisan-like crusty bread and this was more like pop-in-the-oven ready made. Our waitress, Nicole, gave superb service. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful with suggestions. This is a very affordable, nice intimate place where you can have a quiet and lovely meal.

“Diamond in the rough...affordable too!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2013

We found this place on our first night visiting Canyon Lake and loved it so much we have been back each night since. We have sampled a wide variety of entrees and each one was amazing. The beer selection is limited but that is the only issue we have found with Italian Garden and it is inconsequential to us. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. We will definitely be back next time we vacation in the hill country!

“Good food, servers inconsistant, room noisy...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

Always good Italian food and pizza, but there service is not 100% and a recent remodel, while needed, suffers with too much noise and inaccurate temperature control. Overall a decent choice on the North side of the lake.
