Owner description: A FAMILY-FRIENDLY SHOW, where fictional characters bring to life the stories, struggles and triumphs of the Texas Panhandle's early 1800 settlers on stage of the Pioneer Amphitheater; located deep in the heart of the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Song and dance abound mixed in with some good ol’ Texas humor, spellbinding lighting, special fire and water effects, and the world famous Dancing Waters of TEXAS and firework finale' make TEXAS a must see!

We went to this show with 11 members of our family from Grandparents, Parents and five Grandchildren. The show was a terrific ending to a great day of hiking and horseback riding in the canyon. Unfortunately we had to schedule our little reunion in August so it was quite hot in the theater, especially in the first half when there was little breeze. The fact that it was quite hot was accentuated by the fact that the seats in the amphitheater are somewhat small and VERY close together, much like older theater seats. Just hope that you are not sitting next to a larger person because they will be extending over into your space. The only criticism I have of the show itself is that some of the talking dialog goes on TOO LONG which makes the show itself quite long. I think everyone was anxious to get to the finale about 30 minutes before it ended. Having said this, I recommend everyone do see the show if they are visiting.

We did the dinner as well. Meal was fine. Nothing remarkable but plenty of good food. Once again, since it was quite hot the flies were out in force and some of the tables available were out in the sun.

Hiked Palo Duro Canyon during the day with three teenaged sons and had tickets to chuck wagon dinner and musical in evening. All three boys have different personalities and loved the musical as did my boyfriend and I. The backdrop was DRAMATIC!

This is a musical, depicting the "feuding" between Ranchers and Farmers in the Texas Panhandle Plains. Of course it is cheesy! Of course it has a happy ending! If you look past the fiction and look back in time, you can see why there is a play about the tough times and the fights over the railroad coming through.
It is definitely worth seeing!!!

A must see! A fabulous musical highlighting the Panhandle's history. The actors, dancers, and musicians do a great job and make the night a feast for the eyes. The Canyon is such a change from the typical Panhandle landscape and is fun to explore. The BBQ meal is good, but it's also fun to eat before in Canyon or Amarillo. Great night that ends with a laser light show and fireworks with a special tribute to our national heroes.

We have gone to this musical 3 times now and it gets better all of the time. Great venue and very friendly people. Fun time for family. We ride a motorcycle and also require handicap parking and they accomodted us in the full upper parking lot at the end of the row in the striped area.

Seats are good all over but as I am kind of large, they are not comfortable for people like me. Not their fault, by any means, just some smaller sized seats.
