“Pretty spectacular canyon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012

It's sort of a mini grand canyon. We couldn't get through it all because rains made part of it unsafe. But we spent two hours driving and wandering through the parts we did see. It's a relatively easy drive with lots of places to stop. We didn't think much of the visitor's center, which seems more of a gift shop than anything else. You don't need it. The canyon speaks for itself.

“Parents Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

My wife and I took her parents there for a few days. We packed way to much stuff to take with us. They had a little store in the park. Lots of beautiful landscapes to enjoy right off the back porch, whether it was sun-up or sun-down it was great. Two people in our party got to see rams that are spotted only one or two times a year. They have all kinds of hiking trails and horse back riding trails. A place to get good exercise and relaxation.

“Palo Duro Visit #2”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Palo Duro Canyon is a great place - this was our second visit to the Canyon - it offers a variety - hiking some of the trails, horseback riding, just driving through the park is amazing - gorgeous area - a must see when in the Amarillo area.

“Worth a drive to see the biggest canyon in America next to the Grand Canyon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

This one will surprise you as you drive across the Texas plains. Everything is flat and then there is this amazing canyon filled with colorful rock formations, wildlife, and interesting plants. It's clear why Comanche and Kiowa came here to rest and recuperate. You can hike, horseback ride, bike, and sightsee to your heart's delight.

“Gorgeous!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

Took a first time drive through Palo Duro Canyon today. So much to see, and I think everytime you drove through it, you would have a different visita. It's a short drive(20+ miles) south of Amarillo. Wouldn't mind returning to stay in one of their campgrounds.
