“A "must do" hike into the canyon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

It's a 3 mile trek, no big deal until the last 2/10ths of a mile. Then you're in for a surprise. And a spectacular view (and sense of accomplishment) when you get to the top.

“Great Hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

My son and I did this relatively moderate hike - I highly recommend doing it as early in the day as possible as it gets hot quickly and there is little or no shade. The views are terrific.

“Easy hike except if you want to climb at the end”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2013

Easy hike, bring plenty of water, and start early. Started the rock scramble to the top and decided to pass since the dirt was a little too crumbly.

“The Lighthouse Up Close”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Although the rest of us opted to view the rock formation known as The Lighthouse from a distance, my brother and nephew biked the Lighthouse Trail - and they LOVED it! The biggest suggestion when biking or hiking anywhere in the canyon is to take plenty of water. The trail gets rough in a few places, but my twelve-year-old nephew managed it just fine - and it's an experience not to be duplicated anywhere else in Texas.

“A Highlight of the Vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

This trail is amazing! when you get to the end there is a beautiful view. It is a 6 mile hike. You will want to do it in the morning before it gets hot. there are some shade trees and benches so you are not in the sun the whole time. it was amazing!
