Great location and views.
Accommodation clean, modern and spacious on a par with 4 star hotels.
The pub is welcoming, the staff and food excellent. Plenty of choice on the menu and specials board with no restrictions as we were on a D B & B package which makes a change!
Will be returning to explore the local area soon with the better half!!!!

We were recommended by a friend and I thought I was going to be hotel. The place is clean and the bedroom spacious with a good bathroom though the bed was a little uncomfortable.

It was a romantic weekend for an anniversary and unfortunately the pub side didn't moment my expectations. The food was classic pub food and nothing outstanding.

For what it is i am sure it is popular especially with the busy caravan park in the back but it was not the best place for a romantic meal and weekend.

The Black Swan is a gem of a place to stay and eat. The pub has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The quality of the food is very good. The breakfast choice and quality was better than 5 star hotels I have stayed in! We all enjoyed our evening meals - steaks and the choice of fish was very good. Beer and wine selection was also first class. Will be returning soon to investigate the local area which has stunning scenery an places to see

We stayed here for three nights on a KGB voucher and it was excellent value for money. We paid extra to stay in a superior room which had two bathrooms! One with a bath and the other with a walk in shower. The room was warm, spacious and comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee etc and toiletries! The staff were friendly and helpful! The generous cooked breakfast was so delicious!

Room tip: Worth paying the small extra for the superior room!

Stayed for 2 nights on a KGB deal (should have been 3 nights but we chose to sacrifice a night so we could go on our preferred dates). Still very good value for money as the room was lovely. Both room and bathroom were very clean. It was great to have two comfy chairs as I get really frustrated when there is only one chair in a room for 2 people (this seems to be the case in 90% of hotel rooms!). Breakfast was good with lovely bacon. We ate there one night and food was good then too. The pub itself was a bit dark and slightly run down and was in complete contrast to the lovely light and airy rooms. The setting was beautiful with stunning views over the vale of York.
