“Inks Lake off season.”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

Stayed 5 nights in a TT the first of December. It was cold, below freezing, the first two nights, but the days were beautiful for walking the dogs and hiking. Most nights, we were the only Travel trailer in our area to be seen except a camp host or two. There are several hikes from 1 mile to as much as 4.5 miles and all are well marked, enjoyable and interesting. The 3 billion year old rock you are walking on is such an interesting part of this area of texas. The lake is constant and full of water birds of all types. Will definitely go back especially during off season.

“Staqying at "Inks Lake”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

First trip to Inks lands ended in sleeping on the ground in the tent with no pillows or sleeping bag. Boy did it get cold. The second trip was with 2 young people who tried to proof they could swim across the lake and back without tiring. HA!

Nice park, beautiful scenery & good hiking trails. Abundant wildlife all around. Saw lots of deer, raccoons, armadillos, & signs of coyotes.

“An Absolutely GREAT State Park ! ! !”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Boy, were we amazed with the beauty and offerings of this wonderful Texas State Park at Inks Lake ! ! ! SO many activities available and lodging opportunities, from tents to motor homes, and air-conditioned cabins, from canoes and kayaks and paddle boats to rent, and FREE loan of rods & reels and small tackle boxes with just what you need to catch some fish, and the best provisioned "general store" we've seen at ANY of the State Parks we've visited, including a variety of baits for the fishing gear, and almost limitless ice supplies for the Park's visitors. and... there's no State fishing licenses required for guests of the Park, so that's a real draw for those who don't normally get out and fish. All you need to do is just get there... (call ahead for reservation information ! ! ! )

“Fun in the Sun!”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Swimming, Boating, Hiking, Camping, Fishing, wildlife, you name it, Inks Lake has it! Nice facilities for campers, shelters, campsites with water/electricity, and more primitive ones. If you are a camper, or RV'er, gotta check this beautiful park out. Don't worry about the lake level, because it is a constant level lake! :)
