My husband and I enjoyed the prettiest drive of our trip to the Texas Hill Country when we happened upon P4 road to Longhorn Caverns State Park. There were beautiful bluebonnets on each side of the road.

“Great Cavern!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

My husband and I were bored to tears one Saturday and we decided to take a make a day trip down to Burnet to check out the caverns.
My husband and I love caves and while he had visited Longhorn as a child, I never had.
We got there right after a tour had already left and had to hang around the visitors center for about 45 minutes until the next tour started. This gave us plenty of time to use the restroom, check out the gift shop, and grab a drink.
The tour started and it was us, a father and his two children, and a mother with her son. The seven of us with our tour guide were off. It was really neat being in such a small group.
I found the tour to be very interesting and loved the history of the cave being used as an illegal bar during prohibition.
We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to our friends.

I wasn't as interested in this as my husband and son were but it was so worth it! Great history in that cavern and we had a great guide.

“Good cave trip”

Different from luray, inner space and natural bridge. More affordable than others as well. Not many formations but large chambers/rooms. Goofy guides, but kids liked it.

Amazing
Well maintained
Formed by the erosion of rivers

Can be viewed only with your guides.

The rush is seasonal.
It is loated in a far off place and is the only thing there.
