We moved to Buffalo Gap almost two years ago and for whatever reason, Lola's is the last local restaurant we tried. But, we went today and the food was so good that we left wondering why we didn't come sooner! The cheese enchiladas were possibly the best I've ever had and the Navajo fry bread was amazing! Lola did visit with us, but we enjoyed the conversation. She wasn't at all rude, like someone else said. I guess some people just don't appreciate small town charm.

Great place hands down. Be careful with the "rules".
Home cooked Mexican food and friendly place. The fry bread is amazing.

Well, the reviews we're wrong. Awesome Mexican food! Flavor galore! And spice was added by Lola and other patrons and it was just like a family reunion. I ordered tacos which were delicious and they came with a magnificant piece of fry bread. Mmmmm. I wish Lola would move to Seattle

If you're like me, you go to restaurants as much for the atmosphere as the food. If the food is great but there's no ambience, I can't enjoy it. If the setting is just right, and the food only palatable, it's not the end of the world. But if both are slam dunks, you've got not only a great meal, but an experience! That sums up Lola's. She was seated at a corner table in the front room, nursing a cup of coffee. The back room was not being used at the moment, probably because it was close to 2:00. Only a couple of tables were occupied, and the moment we sat down, everyone was friends. It was so natural, kind of like coming home. You haven't been gone so long that mom makes a fuss about you being back, but still everyone is glad to see you and eager to talk. We fetched our drinks and chips/salsa from the kitchen, giggling all the while, like, "are we really allowed to do this?" Lola practically took our order just listening to us discuss the (limited) options on the menu. The setting is so intimate that when we prayed before the meal, everyone in the place bowed with us and we all finished with an Amen! She had our food out in under 10 minutes; it was delicious and authentic Mexican (not tex-mex). The Navajo Fry Bread which accompanies every entree is a food you could surivive on, like manna.
Buffalo Gap is not a big place; don't miss out on this little joint with the big heart.
