Some tasty pastas and salads, decent wine list. Fun atmosphere with tin ceilings, old wood and such. The wait staff was pleasant too even though they were extremely busy during a special event weekend at nearby Texas A&M

We really enjoyed our meal at the Caffe Capri. The potato gnocchi was excellent with a smoked gouda sauce, proscuitto, portabelo mushrooms and sausage. Others enjoyed the cajun tortellini, the lasagna, the salmon, and the fetuccini alfredo. The perfect ending was the cannoli. Excellent!

The place is okay. Atmosphere is really unique but the food is very plain and nothing stood out. Would we go again... Maybe

It is not authentic, it is not fancy, it is not a place to dine for a special occasion so why did I give it a high score?

Because it is what it is..good local food that you can depend on.

The staff is always friendly, the food is always hot and good, the bill is always decent. It doesn't try to pretend to be real Italian with a pretentious chef or menu items with unpronounceable names (that even the waiters cannot pronounce), it doesn't try to be an exclusive dining spot, it is just a good place to go, get a meal and walk away feeling full and not like you have been gauged by high prices for average food.

The lunch portions of pasta are reasonably priced and you won't have that "have to take a nap" feeling afterward because it's not a huge portion at lunch. The eggplant parmagiana, tortellini, and fettucine were good, however, the sandwiches were a disappointment. Too much bread with tasteless fillings that were neither hot or cold. If they're trying to do authentic Italian, they should do paninis. The place is a long, narrow space in a historic old building with all kinds of paintings on the wall, probably from local artists. Another disappointment was the dirty bathroom. A little scubbing with some Comet would help.
