“Remodeled hotel with friendly staff”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

I would give this hotel a 5 star but my bed wasn't as comfortable and we had issues with the bathroom which the staff fixed but still....

The hotel is newly remodeled so all the rooms are nice. We first stayed in a room with one king size bed and then moved to another room with 2 queens. The room with the king size bed was very nice. It had a mini refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was humongous. It was literally the size of a small studio in NYC. I think it was poor planning to have such a big bathroom. They probably should have made the bathroom smaller and made a small area with a sofabed since they don't have a lot of roll away beds. The shower was huge and had one of those shower heads you could remove. There was also a bench in the shower that folded down from the side I guess in case you got tired.

The hotel only had 2 roll away beds and we were in line for one. The roll away bed could have fit in the bathroom with plenty of space. I could have thrown a small party in the bathroom. The shower head was broken and water started leaking out. They fixed it promptly but it was inconvenient to have a maintenance guy there fixing it. On the plus side, they offered us free snack for our inconvenience. We all had a backache when we got up. I didn't care for the bed. Maybe they didn't use new beds once the place got remodeled. It was also very short so if you were more than 6', you might need to sleep diagonal.

The room with two queens was not as nice as the one with the king size bed. The air conditioner was the one with the knob and the bathroom was normal size. We had problems with the shower draining and someone came to fix it while we were out. They left a note apologizing for the inconvenience and left water and snacks which was very thoughtful. The beds were more comfortable than the king. The room also had a refrigerator and a microwave.

Breakfast is 6-9 on weekends and 7-10 on weekdays. We got there on a Friday and checked out on a Tuesday. When we arrived the front desk had snacks and cookies for guests checking it. I think they only have it out when there is a lot of people checking in. A lot of people checked in on Friday for a tennis tournament and the snacks and cookies were there. Then I didn't see it until Sunday when a bunch of accountants checked in so I think it might be a special occasion thing or because the hotel was sold out, they didn't want to leave snacks out.

During the weekend, breakfast consisted of eggs, sausage, waffle, fruits, boiled egg, yogurt, cereal, juices, and pastries. I was impressed. On Monday, they added bacon so I'm not sure if it's a weekday thing or once in a while thing. There is a small indoor swimming pool, fitness center and one ice machine located all on the first floor.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly. I did have to keep reminding them of things but they did get to it and apologized. The rooms were clean and modern. We stayed on the first floor and then moved to the 2nd floor and I have to say this place has the slowest elevator ever. I think if that's the only negative you can say about the hotel, it's a good thing.

Great place to stay. Fairfield Inn is conveniently located on South Texas, close to TAMU as well as restaurants. We were treated by a delightful young woman who was polite as well as helpful. Room was nice size with great bed and linens. Very quiet even with high school aged sports team staying there---there was no noise. Reserved on Priceline for $70. Would love to stay here again.

From the general manager, front desk staff and housekeeping, they wowed me with their friendliness and attentiveness. The hotel was packed due to a large basketball tournament in town and even with the large crowd and many demands being placed upon them, they never stopped smiling. The facility and rooms were very clean, one of the best I've seen.

This hotel is going through a renovation, most of the rooms and interior space have been updated, looks like they are wrapping it up.

The only downside was the location. It's located technically in Bryan and it's sort of an old area. Stay up towards University Blvd, more places to eat and shop.

This is a newly renovated property so it is new, modern, and very clean. The breakfast was excellent the first morning but fresh fruit was sparse on day two. The location was one block from the new student conference we were attending at TAMU and perfect for that purpose. However, we had made our reservation in February, called ahead and let the front desk know we would be a late arrival, and upon arrival they had sold our reserved room!! We were assigned a king room with a lumpy sleeper sofa instead of the two queen bed room we booked. My new Aggie was stuck with the sleeper sofa and did not get much sleep. For a very loyal Marriott reward guest, I was disappointed to hear that it was the only room left at check in.

This is a clean friendly relatively new hotel. We visited during Parents weekend. The Hotle was full and could not change to a king bed but at least they tried. Breakfast was average with juice, toas, waffles and cereal. The front desk and staff were friendly. The Hotel is technically close to campus but not close to the action.

Have stayed in quite a few hotels in college station. This was at the top of those for sure. Great location, although its address is Bryan, it is right across the street from Texas A & M University. Nice friendly staff. Very clean and comfy beds with lots of pillows.

Located near intersection of Texas and University, so is in an ideal location. Rooms are spacious and clean. Internet is excellent, and one of the few places that offers a true hot breakfast - eggs, bacon, waffles. Exercise room features new equipment, and is gym quality.
