Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 2 Brownwood B&B and Inns
Reviewed September 14, 2009

Our experience with Star of Texas left us very impressed and grateful, so this is our zealous recommendation! Hidden away in the hushed West Central Texas woods, this excellent bed & breakfast is at once rustic and luxurious. We can attest that it is the ideal retreat for romantic and/or spiritual ends, having undertaken our private wedding ceremony there. Expect exquisite serenity (a little babbling fish pond, even), lovely intimacy with nature, impeccable cleanliness and quality in the accommodations, fabulous food and a fine spirit of hospitality in the gentle proprietors at Star of Texas. Be assured that a renewal (or inauguration!) of wedding vows with these folks will be perfect magic, whether you are of a particular religion or not; respect and a most cordial spirit certainly abounded in ours.

We had a great time at Star of Texas B&B. Very peaceful grounds and rooms tucked away from the city. Great food and attention to detail in the room; we would defiantly recommend Star of Texas for a quiet get-a-way.

We went for our 20th anniversary on the recommendation of a couple who are friends. Loved it!

I am an animal lover, so encountering the llama named Biscuit (Sp?) on our walk was exciting to me.

We stayed in the Wildrose house. Very quaint , clean and easy to find. Beeakfast next morning was brought to us: a spicy dish that I would call a quiche and was delicious! My vegetarian husband was also able to enjoy it.

We saw the teepee. Too ruggged for us. THey are also refinishing a trailor to make into another unique place to stay.

The couple who run it are very nice-- Texas nice!

My wife and I just spent a wonderful weekend at the Star of Texas B&B. We decided to try the Dancing Buffalo Lodge for one night but ended up staying the whole weekend. What an experience to spend a weekend in a real tipi. (teepee, tepee) I can not recommend this B&B enough for someone wanting a unique Texas getaway. The location is beautiful and the breakfasts were delicious. Of course my wifes favorite was Biscuit the oh so friendly Llama. We plan on returning time and time again.

We celebrated our 20th anniversay at the Star of Texas Bed & Breakfast. Unfortunately, we only had time for one night. We stayed in the little house called the Wild Rose. We were extremely pleased.

Our " house" was ready when we got there. It was very clean.
The owner welcomed us and let us see the Tepee that they have for rent.

We enjoyed the nature walk and its "surprises". Also, the llama on property escorted us for part of the walk. We also enjoyed the side patio at our "house".

Breakfast was very good and delivered to our room on time.

We hope to go again and recommend this place to others. It had a very relaxing atmosphere. The secluded drive into the property sets the tone!

I was staying with a friend of mine in Brownwood, which I'd never been to before, and wanted a nice, unique experience. Looking on googlemaps.com I found this place and the reviews through citysearch rated it positively.
The website had some great descriptions, but somehow it just couldn't compare to what is actually there. The grounds are lovely, the buildings are new and well-built and very clean - and very unique.
I stayed in the teepee. I had never stayed in one before so didn't know they had these around the country.
The teepee area was very secluded and even had it's own outdoor fire ring with seats, a swing, an outdoor potty and shower, and what looks like the makings of the digging of a gold mine. I swear.
It was perfectly wonderful.
Even more wonderful is a walking path a mile long which goes through a small creek.
But what I liked most was hanging out in the teepee with my friend, they pulled in a separate mattress for us, with a nice fire, catching up.
But the great breakfast the next morning came close.

I really encourage anybody looking for a break in the country to go to this place. Nice people, nice place.

And they have a llama who is friendly!

We stayed here in the first weekend of April for our wedding night and loved it! Very clean, very quiet and very romantic. The hot, fresh breakfast the next morning was amazing!
Don and Debbie do a great job.
