I stayed in this hotel for a "stay cation" so my family could all come out and swim and enjoy the indoor pool during the 110 degree days.
We got an extremely nice jacuzzi suite. So nice in fact that the jacuzzi was in a separate room that looked like those dummy doors to an adjacent room.
Full size fridge and range and microwave within a little kitchenette was unexpected.
Overall it was very nice aside from the surly desk clerk who constantly followed my family the pool room admonishing them that they couldn't swim without me present when I was on my way down in the slow elevator.
It's without a doubt the nicest hotel in Bowie. I would recommend a stay here if you are passing thru. It's kind of hard to figure out for an out of towner to get back into our quaint little town, but hopefully the desk people will help out with that.
Bowie has a great many antique shops down town and some great restaurants not listed on Trip Advisor. I'd recommend the delicious lunch buffet at Longhorn Cafe. They do dinner buffets as well Thurs thru Sat night. All you can eat and melt in your mouth delicious.
Nostalgia is listed on Trip Advisor, and a great choice but you almost always need reservations at Lunch and they don't serve dinner. Great antique soda fountain tho.
Come visit Bowie. You might be glad you did. :)

I rode in the Hotter N Hell and was driving home when I realized I was too tired to keep driving. Luckily, I found this Best Western. Darlene was an excellent representative of the company: very helpful and extra nice. Next time I do the ride, I'll be certain to get a room here.

We picked this hotel while visiting family in the Bowie area. It's right off the highway so easy to find - however, it's a one-way street to get there, so it's odd and out of the way to get out of the hotel.

We stayed in a queen suite with a kitchenette. It had two queen beds plus an empty bonus room (which we put the kids in and were able to close the doors, so bonus when it came to bed time!). The room was clean, albeit, a bit dusty. It didn't seem like they had a full house the three nights we were there. The room was spacious and accommodating.

The management was helpful (our toilet seat broke off the first night - one of the bolts came out) and they fixed it within the hour. They also provided extra towels at the pool when it was out.

They have a continental breakfast and that was surprisingly very good. The selection was impressive and they even had a few hot items like bacon, sausage and biscuits and gravy (but we're in TX, what do you expect?).

We used the pool every night, but stayed away from the hot tub. It was dirty, but the water was warm. The pool was clean and it's inside, so even if the weather outside was bad (or smokey from the wildfires), it didn't bother us.

After driving around some of the other options that Bowie had to offer, I am glad we picked the Best Western, even if the price was a bit more a night. It was worth it!

Overall, a good find. I have only two complaints: 1) room was a bit dusty (you could see the dust on the wood work above the bed) and 2) it smelled like Indian food (owners are Indian). The smell at times in the lobby was very strong - but could not smell it where our room was (at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor).

The room was okay. It smelled a little like smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. The bigger issue was the door not latching! No matter how hard I pushed it, it just wouldn't! I had to lock the bolt to keep it closed. Would have asked for a different room, but the desk worker said they were booked up with construction crews. Other than that, everything was great.

Have stayed at this location in the past. Very clean, comfortable room. Lobby is beautiful, full hot buffet breakfast in 2 restaurant like rooms. Nice outside area to sit. 99% of the staff was very accommodating and helpful, however the morning checkout clerk was blunt and expressionless. a/c unit somewhat noisy, but all in all a recommended hotel.

I typically only write reviews for really nice or really nasty hotels. In the middle of nowhere -- Bowie, Texas -- is a little Best Western that's as nice as any Marriott. Go for the king suite; it'll cost you just a couple bucks more. Oh, and the breakfast was surprisingly good, too. Management must have responded to the nasty earlier review about that.

Room Tip: do the king suite

Recently, stayed at the Inn & Suites with many other classmates for a reunion. We found the Inn to be very clean, with a friendly accomodating staff who met all our needs. The room itself was quite roomy. We found the romm to clean, well maintained and smelled fresh The Continental Breakfast surpassed that of many others by being plentiful and varied with both hot and cold breakfast items. As Bowie is a small town this is definitely the place to stay.
