Hidden Valley Inn truly is a hidden gem. A little challenging to get to but the effort will be rewarded with beauty and adventure that will leave you with a lifetime of great memories. So few places offer the opportunity to swim under a stunning 80 foot water fall in complete solitude, hike along beautiful streams seeing amazing flowers and end at yet another secluded waterfall and swimming hole. Only at this little pool of refreshing water is a wonderful white linen sparkling wine lunch with a hammock that the fantastic staff was nice enough to pack in and set up for you. Forgot a swim suit when you left on the hike, not to worry, pretend your Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, it feels like it. There are 90 miles of trails on this property and only 12 rooms, most of the time you will feel like you are the only ones here. This place can be as relaxing or as adventurous as you wish to make it, hike all day if you like, tired? Call them on the radio you are given and before you know it they pick you up and whisk you back to the Inn for a cool libation. Not into adventure today... simply lounge in the pool and chill. The staff is fantastic, friendly, full of suggestions on how to spend your days, and very eager to make the guests feel...Hidden Valley Inn truly is a hidden gem. The rooms are surprisingly comfortable, especially considering there is no AC, but the rooms never feel like you need it. We have stayed in both types of rooms here, if you can opt for the larger Estate suites they have a great outdoor screened in sitting area and n outdoor waterfall shower with orchids growing in it. Do the Caracol trip with Marvin he is awesome and very entertaining. Absolutely do the sparkling wine romantic lunch at Secret Pools and Falls, memories to last a lifetime. The Cascade trail is like a fun but adventurous jungle gym along a great stream with more beautiful little waterfalls and pools than I could even count. But of course the hands down must do is take a leisurely swim under Butterfly Falls a true gem. This was our second visit to Hidden Valley Inn, the last being eleven long years ago, and this place is still as wonderful as we remembered. It absolutely will not take us eleven years to return this time. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for a fantastic return visit.More
