“Great Getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2013

We went for Thanksgiving...Played golf on their beautiful course the day before Thanksgiving, had dinner in their excellent restaurant that night, stayed in a beautiful room and just finished a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch.....The customer service was excellent. We felt special during our entire stay....

It is a resort, so the rooms are scattered all over the property. It is an outside walk to get to the restaurant, pro shop or spa.....

It is only a 5 mile trip in to Boerne which is a neat little town with a lot of unique shopping.

We are already planning a return trip with friends for a couple of night stay and some golf at their great golf course....

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the lobby and restaurant. That will also get you close to the swimming pool...

This has to be the best bargain and best kept secret in the Texas Hill Country. It's set in beautiful valley surrounded by limestone cliffs. Close enough to easily go into San Antonio, but once our group arrived we decided we weren't leaving. No reason to. The new ownership is doing a great job renovating things, and it feels new and fresh. The outdoor patio is about as perfect of a setting as you're going to get in Texas. Food was excellent, nice beer selections, service is very friendly, great music at night. They go out of their way to make everything as comfortable as possible. The golf course is well kept, tennis courts, basketball hoop, driving range, pool, biking and hiking trail, fitness center, horseback riding, bonfire, spa, ...it's a fantastic place to kick back and enjoy the surroundings or stay as active as you want.

My organization booked a group event at The Resort at Tapatio Springs and we were very impressed with their excellent customer service. The facilities are beautiful and everyone, even housekeeping, always greeted us with a smile. If we had a need or a change, we were given immediate attention. We will definitely consider Tapatio for our next event!

had a few drinks and munchies in the bar, very nice. Good waitstaff and prices. Bartender was terrific....Food was good. Music on the patios on Fridays, really great! The views are nice too . Little tricky to get there, but a nice drive overall, just watch for deer.

Great escape from it all. Beautiful golf resort!
Nice restaurant & bar.
Enjoyed all the wildlife in the area.
Everything within walking distance (food, pool,...), no need to leave.
They charge an extra fee for a refrigerator in the room.
Only one problem with mildew in the bathtub/shower.
Large spacious rooms, beautiful views.
Don't forget to pack your bug repellent. Those Texas mosquitos aren't as friendly as the people.
So glad we did not bring our children!
We will definitely return!

Really enjoyed this resort in the hill country about 30 minutes northwest of San Antonio. Love this area and Boerne itself is a neat little town with lots to do. The resort itself was recently renovated and they did a very good job, nice rooms with fairly upscale appointments and an excellent value monetarily. The food was above average, service was a bit spotty at times but everyone there was pleasant and tried hard to please. The golf course was in reasonably good condition given the extended drought in that area, unless you're used to the real high dollar courses with pristine conditions you will not be disappointed with this course and some of the holes are pretty challenging off the tee box. Would go back again and can recommend the resort highly.

Our son and new daughter-in-law were married in Boerne this weekend, and we used the Resort as our rehearsal dinner venue and room block. The dinner was fabulous; Chef Roman was wonderful to work with and the food and service were outstanding. We had over forty rooms reserved by family and friends, and they all raved about the accommodations, the scenery, the food at the restaurant, and well, really, about every aspect of the Resort. The entire staff, including the wait staff at the rehearsal dinner, the restaurant and the bar, guest services, the pro shop, housekeeping, and especially, Krista Nabors, the Sales Manager who helped plan the whole event, was wonderful! They made the weekend special for everyone, and I will be forever grateful! We will definitely be back!
