“Hotel Impossible should visit this place”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

This is place is a contradiction in itself. The clubhouse and restaurant are truly superb, and the service is really great there. However the hotel and service feel like a different property...more like a budget hotel. The rooms were old but large and somewhat updated, however the bed was really old and uncomfortable, the walls were paper thin (you can here the people talking in the next room, kinda creepy), and there isnt a microwave, or mini fridge which is kinda important if you are staying more than one night since you are 15-20 mins from anywhere besides the resort to eat. The hotel staff was really chinchy with everything as well. For example our reservation package included a 100 dollar resort credit, but at checkout we were informed you had to use 50 dollars at a time no matter how much your food costs, so if you have a 20 dollar breakfast you are out the rest. The restaurant isnt open monday morning, but we were informed continental breakfast was in the lobby only to be charged 9 bucks for cereal and milk. Also they said they dont heat the hot tub in the winter???? Seems like a good time to use it.

Room Tip: Get a second floor room. I was on the second floor and the floor was really creaky and was really g...

Thank you for your review. We are in the process of renovating our pool and hot tub. We do apologize for this inconvenience during your stay. The renovation is scheduled to be complete by the end of February with an amazing upgraded pool! This deal that was purchased on Travel Zoo did include a $100 resort credit, which can be used on food and golf. Due to the inconvenience of the restaurant being closed on Monday morning, we did credit this guest for their continental breakfast, and let them split the voucher between the two days of breakfast. We feel we did everything we could to accommodate this guest and their usage of the voucher. They did use it for the maximum value. At Tapatio Springs, we strive to please our guests, and we are truly sorry that we were unable to please this guest despite our efforts. Every effort was made to accommodate the usage of their voucher and give them their full value. We do appreciate the feedback, and will improve from it. Our resort has gone under a complete renovation over the past two years, and continues to see new upgrades and amenities.

The scenery and grounds were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However, the staff in the restaurant were either short handed or under-trained . The one bus boy did not clear off and clean the tables continually. The other 3 wait staff took orders, delivered meals, and cleaned off tables. This caused customers to wait unnecessarily for clean tables, menus and orders to be taken. In my experience, resorts have the extras. However, our room (a King Suite) needed a hook on the bathroom door, trim paint to be removed from the shower tile and a book listing all the amenities of the resort; i.e. operating hours of the pool, fitness center and golf course. A book listing advertisements of places to dine, shop, wineries, local attractions and churches in Boerne and surrounding towns would have been helpful. There was not even a fire escape map posted in the room. The once white, fluffy towels were a little gray and need replacing. A little disappointed in a great place that could be AWESOME!

It's no resort, but rather a dressed up Comfort Inn type of place. C+. Was remodeled and desperately needed it. We first visited in early Fall 2011, and the place was the shambles.

The staff was friendly enough but we sure didn't enjoy dealing with their so called Pro golf guy, Tommy Darland. In our personal opinion, he seemed unprofessional and somewhat rude, much like a used car salesman peddling golf lessons and discounts if paid in cash. Pure dead weight. Apparently they replaced him, as there was a new pro there this time. Good move.

The course itself just isn't up to par. It's not well kept and seems slapped together. The greens keeping is lacking here. Many dead areas. I know about the Boerne water situation, but you're playing on dirt patches in many areas. Just wasn't fun. Has potential, but needs further improvement in playing surfaces.

FOOD IS GOOD HERE. It's coming along. Improvements to amenities are getting better. Will try back in 2014.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry that our golf course did not meet your expectations, we are just emerging from winter and several below 20 hard freezes...we can assure you that our spring conditions will be much improved..Please try us again when the weather has warmed. Again, thank you for your comments, we hope your next stay will be very positive.

The staff was great. The food was not bad. The scenery saved the trip. I am not quite sure what defines a resort, but this wasn't what I had in mind. My room was near the pool area so I could hear everything that was going on at the pool.

Room Tip: Bring a good book and gym shoes to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

Wow, we had the best time, the dinner was awesome, the staff was exceptional. They helped me with everything and did everything they could to make the evening great. Malory was my main contact and she leasoned to what I wanted then made it happen. So thank you so much Tapatios and I highly recommended them for any spiecal event.

Room Tip: It is a little bit of a drive to get to the resort but well worth it. Don't be in a hurry enjoy...

What a AWESOME place to celebrate my birthday. From the moment we arrived till we left it was 5 Stars service... Our room was nice (King Size). The view was very nice. The food was fabulously and 5 Star quality. The golf course was in excellent shape the very enjoyable to play. The scenery was beautiful.
Thank you for a AWESOME weekend

Room Tip: If you have time, take a trip to Boerne and eat at Fritze's BBQ... The baby back ribs are GREAT...

Stayed over for five nights for convention. Rooms were nice and roomy with lots of space, decor was nice though plain, few niggles with noisy toilet that woke me on few occasions, and also noisy wildlife outside, yet that cant be helped. However the golf course is great and the food good. Was surprised at the bar closing so early each evening? But a trip to Walmart sorted that out! Scenery is breathtaking and the highlight of the trip for me. Most of staff were very polite and helpful.
