Dinner at Fredo's Ristorante in Boerne was a pleasant surprise last night - it's a new place, so the staff was a bit overwhelmed by the crowds, but the food quality didn't suffer. We had chicken piccata and an Italian sausage and polenta dish - both of which were solid, good basic Italian. The service was excellent, despite the crowds. It was reasonably priced as well. We were impressed with the attention to detail of the staff - I ordered Prosecco and the already-opened bottle was flat. The bartender tasted it, then opened a new bottle without a word from us. The only negative feedback I'd give was to the same bartender - when you pour Prosecco into a lovely tall glass, don't ruin it with the abomination that is a maraschino cherry!!!
