“Great piece of pie”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We stopped down the street at another café and asked for pie- so they suggested this place. We were not disappointed. Try the fruit pies ala mode or coconut cream! It was a nice stop for a relaxing cup of coffee and piece of pie after touring the local microbrewery and visiting Blanco State Park.. The café is located a half block off the main square (away from the main highway)

“The Bowling Alley”
Reviewed July 25, 2013

One block off the court house square sits the bowling alley. You may not think of it as a restaurant but you will be intrigued by all the vehicles parked outside. The lunches are like you have at Grandma's house and the portions suit your needs. No need to waste time looking for a place to eat because this is it.

“Can't go to Blanco without a trip to the Bowling Club Cafe!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

This is an actual 9-pin bowling club with teens hand setting the pins. The cafe is in the front. I've never had anything that wasn't good, but, really love their burgers. The staff is friendly and you will feel like you've stepped back in time.

“Blanco's Culture”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

The" Bowling Alley" is Blanco's history and rich culture...
never mind the animals on the wall. The food is home style
and pies...all the local farmers and ranchers gathering place.

“Sadly disappointed...”
Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

My friends and I had been to the Blanco Bowling Cafe in April and LOVED it. We liked it so much we went on and on about how great it was and talked our friends into going there during the Lavender fest. Wow...the experience was seriously disappointing and i was embarrassed I recommended it!The restaurant was busy, but there were several tables open so we sat down expecting to have a good breakfast before attending the festival. From beginning to end, it was a disappointing experience. We all received our initial beverage, but had to ask for refills on coffee, water, tea...this would have been fine if they were really busy, but there were three servers chatting up front almost the entire time we were there. When we asked for refills, they were unfriendly and looked rather put-out. It took more than an hour for our breakfast to be served...and, it was mediocre at best. When I spoke to the cashier about the service, she implied it was because of the Lavender fest...did they not expect it to be busy (the back room where we were seated was almost empty when we left)? I think we would have been reasonably satisfied if we had had beverage refills, friendly service, and an explanation/apology for why the food was so delayed. In any case, I don't think we will be back...it left a bad taste in our mouth.
