Texas Ranch Life Accommodation
Reviewed September 4, 2012

We stayed at the ranch over the Labor day weekend and judging from the website you would think this place is awesome. Please beware that the website is very misleading ! To start with, the place is like 20 minutes away from highway 290 in a non paved road with very little directions on how to get there. When you look it up in google maps the location is wrong too, it will show as it was in Chappel Hill and that is not the case. When you finally get to the place there is noone there to greet you or check in. A person showed up the next day asking what activities we were going to do. My husband went horse riding that I also think was highly over priced for what it was. The cowboy that went along with him seemed bothered having to wake up from his afternoon nap to accompany him. Inside the house also the water had this horrible sulfur smell that was just overwelming. The scenery was nice but that was it. The website is trully misleading !

Sitting on the front porch of Creekside House in the morning, under a giant pecan tree, drinking our coffee and watching a herd of buffalo across the road, wind in the leaves, dew on the grass -- what a treat! The house was lovely, the breakfast was enormous, a perfect serene place for a visit with old friends. We will definitely be back! A million thanks, Taunia and Lacey!

Room Tip: We LOVED Creekside House!

Texas Ranch Life really delivered what they advertise with is true Texas charm and a relaxing atmosphere. I spent a weekend with 20 individuals for a board retreat to plan out our upcoming year, this is usually a very intense meeting, however this year although the topics were intense...we were more at ease and that is due to our surroundings. We were able to bond as a team and We enjoyed horseback riding, lessons on teambuilding through horse training and sitting on the porch and talking. We also had a chance to tour the other houses and just loved how unique each one is. Many of us have already started plans for family vacations in the future

Love love love this place. It is true to Texas and is magazine picture perfect beautiful. No swimming pools and tanning beds here just classic calm country comfort. Great old restored homes, horses, longhorn cattle good home cooked meals, and genuinely warm hospitality. It is great for a business retreat or family getaway. Leave the dress shoes and neck ties at home. I was there for a board retreat to plan our next years work. Much better than a stuffy 5 star hotel. High rise city views are replaced by panoramic rolling hill tops scenery. The Elicks are wonderful people to have created such a place and opened it up to guests. I truly enjoyed it. Plan to go back soon.

We rented the Hacienda and had some lovely and relaxing days in great surroundings!

It was lovely to spend some time away from Houston and have quality time with family visiting from Norway.

The Hacienda is beautifully situated on a hill and you can see for miles, the sunsets were amazing.

My girlfriend and I visited texas ranch life and were amazed at the authenticity and impeccable state of the accommodations. From the time we reserved, through our stay, the entire family ensured each part of our trip was organized and to our liking. This family run establishment is charming and provided us with an incredibly memorable time. The horseback ride through the acres of property was magnificent and our cowboy, Craig, was a gentleman who catered to all levels of riding. We highly recommend texas ranch life!

My girlfriend and I visited in late May, and were treated to an authentic Texas ranch experience by warm and generous hosts. From horse riding, tomahawk throwing, shooting and rolling hills, we had an incredibly relaxing time. The Hacienda house was beautifully decorated with the modern appliances perfectly complimenting the Texan history on display.

Waking up in the morning to Longhorns outside the Hacienda house, was definitely an experience, and it is evident from the wildlife and conservation efforts that the guys in charge are trying to maintain the environment as much as possible.

I am usually glued to my phone and laptop, but this ranch was so relaxing that neither bothered me for the four days that were were there.

John and Tania were perfect hosts, doing all that they could to make sure that we had all that we needed throughout our stay.

Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Ask for the Hacienda House, it was at the top of a hill surrounded by rolling countryside and wildli...
