This hotel is brand new and quite beautiful. We were shocked that they took pets.
Unfortunately, the evening we arrived, there was no hot water. The morning we left, there was still no hot water. We complained both times and were told that because we were the only ones on that floor, it was taking a long time to warm up but I talked with people on other floors with the same issue (we had friends on the 3rd floor, we were on the 1st). After running the water for 15 minutes in the morning, I finally gave up and took a lukewarm shower so I wouldn't be late to our planned events. The weekend was cold and to not have a hot bath in the evening and a hot shower in the morning was unacceptable. They never offered to move us or apologized.
Another issue was that our room on the first floor was aligned with the parking lot light. We had to really mess with the curtains to block out the light so we could sleep. But when I went to leave at around 6:30 a.m. and it was pitch black outside, the lights were turned off and I couldn't see anything in the parking lot and had to struggle to get my car loaded.
My husband left before me, so when I checked us out, I was shocked that they hadn't offered us any compensation for the lack of hot water. Later that day, my husband mentioned that it was nice of them to give us a discount. Apparently the front desk person had told us they would be giving us a discount but the discount never made it to our account. We had to drive back to the hotel before leaving town to get the discount we were promised. They gave us a $30 refund because of the water situation, which frankly I didn't think was enough considering the room was around $160. I honestly think the room should have been discounted by about 50%. A guest should not have to run the water for half an hour to get a hot shower or settle for the excuse of "there just aren't enough people on that floor and it's taking a long time". If that's the case, they should have used and empty room to run water long before we got up so that the water would be hot for us. Or maybe their idea of HOT water is just different than mine.
The hotel was beautiful and they are pet friendly, but they have some issues with their water heater that NO GUEST should have to deal with.
