This is just a great little breakfast place to get a good meal. Looked like they also had lunch. It could use some decorating but if you arent expecting a fancy place but want great food go here. Try the Texas waffle special.

We were excited to have a homecooking restaurant in our neighborhood. The first time we tried it it was okay. So we tried a couple more times. The food is boring & unappetizing - at least for my taste. The desserts are pretty good. My husband always had to have pie. But the last we were there, a roach crawled out from under my plate! I'm done with that place!

This is a relatively new business, with a relatively new owner, who bought it from the founder after about a year in operation. They serve a wide array of comfort foods, from 6:30-A to 8-ish PM, depending on the day. Overall the food quality is good, and the service is adequate. They have a faulty steam table that hasn't been fixed that yields grits, gravy, mashed potatoes and other similar things stored usually hot, but theirs isn't quite hot enough. They really should ditch that thing and get a new one. Breakfast breads are made there, and particularly good. Yeast rolls for lunch and dinner are also tasty. Some of their recipes I don't find appealing, but that's not to say they are bad for everyone. They always have a wide array of pies, but the freshness has a little to be desired at times. Caveat emptor. I patronize the place probably once per week for breakfast and lunch, but seldom dinner. I would recommend it as an alternative to Denny's, for family style eating out. They don't have a liquor license, and if they had one it wouldn't sell in that neighborhood. This was a Sizzler restaurant that survived until 2010, even though Sizzler left town in 1995. The steak house closed for good in October 2010.
