This is not your usual Tex-Mex. It has a nice large menu (including Tex-Mex selections) and a Bar HAPPY HOUR from 2-7 (M-F).
The food is prepared as it is in interior Mexico, spices and presentation included. I ordered the
Huarache plate. It is served on a flatbread with grilled beef or chicken, lettuce, Mexican sour cream, cheese, onion and avocado slices. It is served with rajas con crema which is a warm mixed vegetable dish with a sour cream sauce. It practically melts in your mouth. My daughter got the Enchiladas Banderilla. It was also a wonderful plate full of taste with chicken, cheese and
beef enchiladas with trimmings. Also melt in your mouth good. They have at least 3 types of salsa, green and 2 different "heats" of red salsa. All with wonderful spices, but if you order the hot, be prepared, because it is very hot. The tamales are wrapped in banana leaves instead of the corn husks we usually see. We were told this is the way they are done in interior Mexico.
The waiter was very knowledgable about all of the dishes we asked about. Service was excellent, as well.
