Seeing the Hill Country from horse back is the best way to enjoy it! We did 5 different trails and each one was beautiful.

The trails were nice and it was an amazing walk for fitness people, but they are going through a 6 year drought. All in all it's an ok experience, I've definitely been to better parks.

We went horseback riding here with 10 other people. It was great!! The trails went up the hill and my horse was totally stubborn. He kept biting the other horses (in front of me) butt. And then he wanted to run up the hill which I hollered embarrassing. He was probably trying to throw me off. We had fun. We will definitely go there again.

The area is beautiful! We were able to ride off the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge directly to the park. The trails are very visible and marked. The map is not worth much but park volunteer told us it is being updated and will be user friendly. The park was very friendly and park staff we saw very friendly and helpful. The terrain is rocky - would not bring barefoot horses unless they are use to traveling on rock regularly. Front shoes seemed to be enough. Lots of trees, water hole for the horses and hitching posts to tie when wanting to take a break. Best equestrian park I have been in

While it has been rated highly (and, it had it's own beauty)... We're thinking the heat and crowds of the cities (Austin/San Antonio, etc.) are what draw people here. The wildflowers were all but past (We heard they bloom in April). There were yellow wayside flowers but no bluebonnets. It's nice however.
