“Not Really”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2012

I found this SNA to be a little toooo far out of the way and lacking attention. Not well cared for and needing more attention than anyone there wanted to give it.

“So many options!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2012

I love all the trails, all of the options on or off the main roads that are ready to be explored and traveled. Such a well-kept area with many options.

“Gorgeous area, would love to come back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2011

Great park, easy access from dude ranches in the area. We went horseback riding and found lots of trails of varying difficulty and with varying features. Some trails went high and offered great views, some trails followed rivers and creeks. I would recommend it to anyone in the area, but I would suggest coming in the spring or summer, or when the drought is finally over...

“5,500 acres of primitive hiking, biking or riding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2008

If you like primitive trails to mountain bike, hike or ride your horse this is the place. Over 5,500 acres with good variety of hikes & rides. Drinking water is only available at a few places so plan ahead. Water for horses is in the two established horse camp grounds which also have small, individual corrals. Remote camping available also. Donated to the State with the stipulation that the former ranch stay in its natural state this park is true Texas Hill Country. There is a ranch house with barn available for rent but most visitors stay in their trailers or pitch a tent. Electricity is not available outside the house rental although upgrades are planned. You may want to check with park for updates. Hope for a clear night - the star gazing is out of this world! Nearest town is Bandera, over 20 minutes away so bring what you need. If you do go to Bandera try the 11thstreet cowboy bar (Wednesday Steak Night) & Main Street action (Honky Tonk fun) If you are looking for a place to stay try Antler Cabin. Clean & quiet - the best kept secret in Bandera!
