“fine little place to stay”
Reviewed August 14, 2007

although winchester, tn and the surrounding areas are admittedly not much (and i thought my little town in va was small!) the best western is a perfectly fine place to stay in the area, although it might be better to stay in one of the bigger surrounding cities if you're looking for excitement and a higher level of sophistication in your accommodations (nashville is 100 miles away, chattanooga is even closer). there are few places to eat in winchester besides for some fast food, mexican, a chinese buffet, and a steakhouse. the inn does not have a restaurant on-site, although they do have a complimentary breakfast. the town is pretty much dead, but if you do find yourself here for whatever reason, i would recommend the best western.

most of the rooms are on the first floor - it's a classic motel style with parking directly in front of each room. cheerful lobby - the staff is the epitome of southern hospitality. my two double bed room was fairly spacious and exceptionally clean. big screen television, iron and ironing board, nice little table and chairs, hair-dryer, mini-fridge and microwave, fast wireless internet. brightly decorated and nice artwork on the walls...and all at a great price. the air conditioning kept us very cool on an 105 degree august day. also, there is a pleasant little swimming pool that seemed great for children. the only complaint i had was purely cosmetic - the paint on the inside of the bathroom door was very chipped, but this hardly affected by experience here. the staff are genuinely nice people who seem to put a lot of care into keeping their hotel a clean, pleasant place to stay in an area of the country that may not be a top tourist attraction.

My family and I were looking for an inexpensive weekend get-a-way. I stumbled upon the Best Western in Winchester. This hotel is a great deal, the rooms are exceptionally clean, all have refrigerators and microwaves, and the staff is fantastic. They were exremely friendly and helpful. Infact everyone in this area goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. There is quite an array of things to do the Jack Daniel's Distillery is about 30 mins, Fall Mills about 13 miles, Tims Ford Park, (2 Saturdays a month the folks get together out at Tims Ford for a Picking and Grinning session. We checked this out and it was great, The Folks are a little older but they sure can play.) For a Good place to eat try the Blue Gill Grill at the Marina(just ask anyone for directions) I could go on about this Hotel and area but why don't you take a weekend trip and experience it yourself you will not regret it.
