“Worth It”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

My wife and i just celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary with a treat of two nights at Blackberry Farm. While the retreat is expensive and we limited our on-site experiences because of the cost we found Blackberry worth the cost, mainly from the outstanding meals we enjoyed thoroughly! I was a little concerned because some reviews mentioned food as good, some reviews said salty - and we are not a pair that eats to live, but once we finished one meal we couldnt wait to see the menu for the next. The beauty of the food was that it wasnt fancy-schmancy dishes. Main ingredients that sounded 'regular' tasted amazing. A smoked chicken stuffed with mushroom was incredible. Blueberry griddle cakes topped with pecan butter brought audible gasps. The desserts, terrific, the tomatoes, amazing. Bravo to the chefs.
The property feels authentic, private but not stuffy. The jackets at dinner was concerning going in, but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The only concern was how, when and if we tip. There is a 19% service charge each day and it wasnt an issue with meals, but drives to and from activities, luggage, etc...was a question mark. The walking trails were beautiful and secluded. The equestrian ride was interesting, but a little slow.
Blackberry is expensive, the pool is very plain, and lacking a hot tub and other amenities, our room at the main house was large. However, the bathroom (lighting, shower/tub) was old and plain, but both my wife and i enjoyed our stay - mainly thanks to the amazing food at each and every meal.

I have been so lucky to stay at Blackberry Farm. If you want to relax from the rest of the world, eat healthy magnificent food, walk on wonderful trails, sleep in THE most luxurious bedding, ride great horses, enjoy the best spa.... Blackberry is the place. Pricey, yes but you know that when you book. You get what you pay for.we were there for the 4th of July. The fireworks display was second to none. The attention to detail at Blackberry is by far the best of the best. Treat yourself to this peaceful, magical jewel of Tennessee.

This was our fourth trip to Blackberry Farms (three with the G&G Secret Society). As usual we were pampered from check in to check out. Trout fishing in the Smokies, bass fishing in the pond, dinner in the barn and service beyond compare-what else would you want in a long weekend getaway. It is a must do on your bucket list.

Room Tip: Ask for the room on the first floor of the Guest House next to the small patio and not too far from...

Blackberry farm lives up to all expectations. I heard someone remark that they had 350 staff members, and it shows. From the moment you arrive and they in seconds have you registered and whisked off to your room, to the box lunch prepared and ready for you when you leave, the service is outstanding.

The rooms are very nice, very comfortable, and fit the surroundings perfectly. It is nice that almost everything (snacks, tips, breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc) are included in the price. Alcohol and special activities are extra, tho.

Everything was well upkept, and the grounds and hiking trails are extensive. The fitness center is well maintained and has what you'd expect. The pool area was the only spot where probably a bit more attention would help.

The restaurant was outstanding, we had no complaints. Menu changed daily, never had to wait (tho we do normally eat 8:30-9:00 pm, which isn't the most popular time), and the quality of the food excellent. 5 stars in its own right.

Yes.. it is expensive (I joke that Relais and Chateaux should be Relais and Nitro..because you need to pop a few of 'em when you get the bill to treat the chest pain), but well worth the cost!

One of the nicest experiences we have ever had - our family had visited many years back when it was The Inn at Blackberry Farm, and this was truly an outstanding visit! The staff at Blackberry provided the best service we have ever experienced anywhere -; we felt wamly welcomed from the moment we
arrived and every staff person went above and beyond to anticipate our needs and to ensure that our requests were taken care of with enthusiasm. A gorgeous setting in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, The accomodations are beautiful - we stayed in Song Sparrow Cottage and it could not have been more lovely - spacious, great design and use of beautiful fabrics and very comfortable! Wonderful spa and lots of opportunities for outdoor enjoyment - we hiked and enjoyed fly fishing, or you can just sit and rock and take in the scenery from the terrace. The food is superb - each meal we enjoyed was wonderful.! A fabulous dining experience each day.

This was a Birthday treat from my husband - Definitely an unforgettable one!

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights here. Everything was very nice - accommodations clean, nice and elegant; property pretty and very well maintained; food good; staff very nice. All that said, "nice" is simply not good enough to warrant the very high cost. It was...pleasant. For the price, it should be unbelievable. Areas of disappointment: (1) Grounds were pretty but not spectacular. Little to do on the property...and everything that could be arranged (shooting traps, horseback riding, canoeing, fox hunting(!)), was a high added cost. (2) Food was good but, as another reviewer said, often salty. Also, very long wait times at dinner. Areas of satisfaction: staff - unfailingly nice; room (though a little more country elegant than I would like); and ability to take out a Lexus for daily excursion.

I have traveled all over the world and Blackberry Farm is my #1 or #2 place on the planet... it's right up there with staying at the Four Seasons Hualalai Maui Hi. The service levels are similar and the food at BF is unforgettable..... We did the dinner and the wine pairings and it was spectacular !!! Very romantic dining in the Red Barn and a massage at the Spa, then to the room for a wonderful evening. If you want to get AWAY, rest and enjoy world class food, then this is the place. A little expensive but worth it......

Room Tip: Do the Horseback ride and tour the farm, it's great ....
