“New Year's Eve Party at Spice Mill 31 Dec 2011”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

This was our second New Year's Eve party at Spice Mill. This time we attended with two other couples (close friends). We had a fabulous time. The weather held up, again. The food was excellent, the entertainment was great, and we brought in the New Year with a wonderful fireworks display!! I would recommend bringing in the New Year at Spice Mill for 2012.

“Unique, unspoiled and elegant”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Took a sunset catamaran ride to Spice Mill, arriving after dusk, walking through the warm shoreline to a magically decorated restaurant by itself on an uspoiled beach with incomparable views of Nevis. If that alone wasn't enough to rave about, the service, food, and wine were superb. Friendly and catering to our every want, we sat under the stars on a beautiful multi-tiered deck and planned coming back during the day to sit on their secluded beach, and eat and drink at their beach bar.

The snapper and pork were delicious, as was the sweet potato/chipotle soup, and of course a dessert to end all - banana daiquiri cake.

The chef David was a pleasure to talk with, as was Roger, who I believe is the owner

“A gastronomic experience, hell !..”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

I had reserved in advance, thinking the place would be full, given the reviews on trip advisor. The four of us took a taxi from town, $100 return in order not to be piled up in a bus and have a little privacy. We came in for lunch, this on a Monday, a day when 2 large cruise ships were in Port Zante. Bad day, I guess. The beach was covered with 3 rows of chairs, oily persons being massaged with wave runners buzzing up and down. It looked a lot better on the site. Even with all those people around, we were only 3 tables of tourist to eat there. The menu was more than limited. We opted for 3 hamburgers and a ''wood oven pizza''. I have never seen so many flies anywhere and we were chasing flies for the 45 minutes it took to bring out our order. To limit the flies raids, the waitress put an open fire can in the center of the table, this way the flies would burn their wings flying over it and fall in our plate or our drinks or, if you were lucky like my wife, both. The pizza was a flat bread pizza, nothing gastronomic about it, maybe better than what you find in your freezer but not by much. Two of the hamburgers were well done, one was served almost raw, don't ask me why. Sent back, it came back a few minutes later not quite as raw but still red (not pink) in the middle. The fries were of the froozen kind, tasting like cardboard. We ate what we could and called it a day. A bad day, not doubt.

“Chef David & Staff Are Exceptional”
Reviewed December 28, 2011

On arrival we are met by a warm and friendly staff and welcomed immediately to our table overlooking the water. The menu was very eclectic with many fine choices. The fish chowder was exceptional as was the Thai Salad appetizer. The entrees were filled with a variety of tastes that made your mouth explode with enjoyment. The spicey shrimp with pasta so tasty with a more than ample portion. The seafood risotto was similar in taste but really was extraordinary. The chicken dish was the surprise dish at the table, combined chicken with seafood and again was bountiful. Having eaten at many of the highly rated restaurants in St Kitts I am sure that with the arrival of Chef David 2 1/2 months ago he will turn Spice Mill into an up and coming Champion of the St Kitts eateries. Do not miss out on the experience at Spice Mill as the excellent food and warmth of the staff you will not disappoint you.
