The people at the stables were super nice. The day that we went was very hot and humid so riding in the shady forest was especially nice. My horse was very well behaved. The barn area could have been a little cleaner.

We visited the caverns this last week in our trip to Tennessee. Gorgeous and impressive, you could never imagine that exists down there. Small beautiful water falls and amazing formations. Place to visit. Lots of stairs. Bring your camera for outstanding & unique views. Wear sneakers and a light long sleeve shirt. Don't forget to go visit the Bat in the souvenir store. Real and alive!

Tucked away in a treasure of a town, Tuckaleechee Caverns is a one-of-a-kind educational adventure. This tour took us 450 feet beneath a mountain in the largest cave open to the public east of the Mississippi. The formations were breathtaking, the air was crisp (it stays at 58 degrees year round!), and our tour guide was very informed. We got the opportunity to explore 30million years+ of magnificent subterranean beauty, see a few baby salamanders and an underground waterfall. That said, this tour has A LOT of walking, stooping, stairs and wet surfaces. While there were families of all ages, it is probably best for children old enough to walk carefully themselves, have okay balance, and those prepared to walk for about and hour and a half. This is a great tour, but can be a little pricey (at $12-16 per ticket), so make sure it's an age where the kids can remember it. Definitely something I would consider doing again.

We visited the caverns on July 18, and it was great! Our guide Terry was extremely knowledgable, and took the time to answer all of our questions. My 10 year old originally did not want to go, saying she didn't want to look at a bunch of rocks. When we left the caverns, she couldn't stop talking about it! The caverns were even interested to my very active 5 year old who has an extremely short attention span. I definitely would recommend the trip to Townsend to visit these caverns when you visit the area.

We have lived in the area for a long time but have not visited Tuckaleechee Caverns until this summer. The caverns are very pretty and the formations impressive. My favorite part was all the water features including a small waterfall. Our guide seemed to know a lot about the caverns but was difficult to hear and obviously had done the tour many times so he was a little less than excited. Nevertheless we enjoyed the day.
