We got there early in the morning and still had to wait around 30-40 minutes as by 10 am they had already started the trail rides. They were very courteous and the horses looked well cared for. The guide gave us brief instructions before starting on the 3 mile trail ride. Our guide's name was Jerry. During the ride he stopped ahead several times to allow the younger riders to catch up and he would also stop us when critical features of the trail came up, like going uphill or downhill and give us instructions on how to sit in the saddle for that. We crossed the road twice and he provided instructions for that as well. I would go back again and again, as I love horses, but my husband doesn't and not sure if my son JD does, although since this was a good experience and he had a gentle horse, he might. This was the highlight of the trip for me.

There are two Cades Cove Stables, be careful to choose the one in Townsend. This is the family owned business that rides to the waterfall, lets you take your own photos (instead of being charged for a CD), has the most courteous staff. They also take really good care of their horses. The family also owns Cowboy Tubing across the street that was equally as kind and professional. Stay away from the other horse vendor at the entrance to Caves Cove loop, it is a tourist trap.

The people at the stable are very kind and friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure the riders have a great experience. The trail is beautiful and you go by a gorgeous waterfall. The horses are very gentle and well trained. The owners are down-to-earth, genuine people, who will take time to sit down and talk with you. They treat people like family.

We fully enjoyed the ride. Our 5 year old had her own horse, she was a little scared but our leader tethered her and she fully enjoyed it. Our 8 year old was in his glory. There were 9 of us all together and we had a blast. Beautiful views! We enjoyed every moment and will cherish these memories forever!!

We had a great time riding here. Very helpful and courteous staff. Horses were well-behaved (even my 3 yr old rode alone with some help from the guide). Very scenic area with a cool waterfall. Trip was just about the right length of time. Trails were interesting and manageable. Prices seemed reasonable and in-line with other places.
